Flowers

Trying to decide on flowers..Help!

Hi everyone,

I'm trying to decide on a nice summer flower to use for my wedding. I am going through a grocery store florist. I'm looking for a white or ivory coloured flower and was wondering if you have any suggestions. I want to have more of a bouquet for myself and then smaller arrangements for my bridesmaids. I don't want a flower that the pollen will rub onto my dress, etc. Any suggestions would be great!

I did all white flowers and I used roses, lillies and hydrangea.

Lilies can have a lot of pollen.   Season is a big factor with grocery store bouquets.  Roses and carnations are available year round.  Tulips and lilacs are available in early summer.  Iris, Daisies, and Ranunculus in mid summer.  Alstromeria is available for an extended period.

Roses are always in season and are beautiful. Also, for summer, I love dahlias!

I would stay away from lilies.   markets always have roses and alstromeria and should be able to get you white hydrangeas and daisies or mums of some sort.

Personally, I love white tulips. Too bad I'm getting married in November or they'd totally be in my bouquet! I'm doing white calla lilies, though, which I love. Grace Kelly did lily of the valley, which smells amazing and has a nice, laid-back feel... you could try mixing that in with some callas and peonies or something.
