Alternatives to purple callas??

My bridesmaids dresses are aubergine (a deep eggplant like purple) and I really wanted purple and white calla lilies for the boquets - mine would be purple with some white and the bridesmaids would be white with maybe some purple.  The problem is it may be out of my price range. What other simple, sleek, elegant, deep purple flowers would work for an outdoor July wedding in NY?

Lisianthus, orchids, dahlias and larkspur all come in dark purple varieties. As well there are different carnations that come in dark purple and dark purple/ white variegated  varieties. I usually don't like carnations, but these varieties are different. I would talk to your florist and they should have some good options for you. You can also just tell them what colors, style and price you'd like and they should be a able to accomodate you.

I'm going to use freesia in place of calla lilies.

I love calla lilies and would say just use less... make the bouquets smaller...check out the one at the bottom one ...it's called Picasso... how perfect is that!
Plus they hold up really well in heat .
the lower above it is a mokara orchid, also nice and holds up... a touch cheaper ... but the callas still get my vote .
