Flowers on a tight budget

My flower budget is very small - only $500.  Will that cover the boquets?  And what other ways have you seen head tables and reception sites decorated that were not with flowers, looked classy, and were relatively cheap?

    Candles!
As to the bouquet, it will depend on the types of flowers you use, if you do them yourself, all kinds of things.

$500 should cover your personal flowers.  Post this on your local board and hopefully someone can give you a good recommendation.

I love candles and rose petals--very simple and elegant.  I don't know how big your bridal party is but for the head table, you can put empty vases there and put the BMs bouquets in them at the reception to line the table.  (We put ours on our cake table).

I have no idea about the $500 (I used all fake flowers and DIY) but candle centerpieces can be very cheap, I am using candles for mine and they came to about $3 a piece.

If you are on a tight budget, and like silk flowers, you could always go that route!

You can buy flowers in bulk from Wegmans, Costco, and a bunch of online web sites (I have a bunch bookmarked let me know if you want a list) and arrange your own flowers. Cutting out the florist part of it can keep your costs low. My mom is good with crafty stuff like that so she'll be making all the centerpieces and BM bouquets and we're going to go to a florist for my bouquet and the guys' boutineers :)

oh yeah and my bridesmaids will have bb bouquets, i will have roses. My aunt will be making the bridesmaids bouquets and will be about 10 dollars a bouquet. So 60 dollars with floral supplies and then whatever somone charges me for a bouquet of 2 dozen roses.

$500 should be fine.  I'm on a tight budget too so I bought silk flowers.  I got everything, just about, online at afloral.com and saved a TON compared to real flowers. (under $125 total for everything)  I didn't want to have too small of bouquets so I looked primarily at using larger flowers (hydrangeas are what I picked) as well as will be using some of my favorites (roses and cymbidium orchids).

One of my friends got her flowers from Wegman's...they were very cheap but beautiful!!

Another friend got flowers in bulk from Costco - you buy a large pack of one or two different types of flowers...very resourceful!

All of the above are good suggestions.  You can also contact local florists, tell them your budget and what you need (5 bout, 5 bouquets, etc.).  If you go with in-season flowers that will cut costs also.  A good florist will work within your budget and give you options.

We will be using our bouquets as centerpieces on the tables at the reception, and the rest will be non-floral.

Im am currently ordering silk flowers from a company called Deb's wedding bouquetsIf you are looking for cheaper flowers to save money i would go that route.  i have a very large order 8 bouquets, 18 boutioneers, and 5 corsages and it is going to cost me around $450.  If i bought real flowers with what i wanted it would of cost me well over $3000!!! I sent the owner Sheri a message with a picture of what I wanted and she ran with it!!! she has absolutely fantastic!!! she emails me on a daily basis and lets me know the status of my order and sends me pictures along the way, and if i didnt like something i would tell her and she would change it and make sure that i like it... I am doin white orchids, yellow calla lillies, and white calla lillies, with black feathers, black ribbon around the stem with yellow ribbon braided in.  she has send me pictures and i think that it looks awesome!!

Sheri said that my oder should be ready by the end of next week.  Sheri is really good to work with and if you have any questions or concerns she is always there to help you, I would highly reccomend her to anyone who wanted to do silk flowers!!!

I will let you know when i receive the flowers how i like them, but from the pictures im sure that i am going to love them!!! they look awesome!!
