Matching Bouquet to Dress

I'm having trouble deciding what bouquet to carry. I'm getting the bridesmaids pink and purple bouquets which I really love, like this in bouquet form (they're wearing navy dresses):

Do you think a bright pink and purple bouquet would be too much with my dress? I was thinking of asking my florist to use pink mokara orchids since the shape is similar to the design. I really love the pink and purple colors, and I feel like I want to show them off in photos of my groom and me since those will be the ones we'll frame, but I'm thinking it might be too much with my dress. Now I'm thinking about something like this:

I'm just not very good at figuring out what will complement my dress! I'm wearing a cathedral length plain veil. TIA for thoughts!

If it weren't for the champagne sash on your dress, I would say go for the same flowers as in the BM bouquets, but as it is I think you do need a more delicate colour palette. I'd find out from the florist which flowers in the BM bouquets come in lighter shades of pink/lilac, and base your bouquet around those so the shapes will be similar.

I would at least add some color to your bouquet so it shows up well in your pics. A white bouquet won't show much against your white dress. Unless you like it to match. Not my style but I'm not one for white on white! Lol I'm not even wearing ivory shoes w my ivory dress... so white flowers for a bride are not for me..

Personally for your bouquet, I'd look at very pale pinks and peaches to put with ivory flowers.

I agree w/pp's. Use color, but nothing too harsh.

If you show the dress to your florist she will probably be able to give you some ideas of what would look best.

I agree...use some color...maybe a paler shade of what your bridesmaids are carrying (fuschia vs pink and purple vs lavender).  So have the girls carry fuschia and purple, but you carry pink, lavender and white.

    Hope this helps...

Wow, you look lovely, and that is a beautiful dress.

On the one hand, I agree that you don't want the flowers to blend in so much you can't see them.

But on the other hand, I don't like it when they distract from the focal point of pictures, which will be YOU, and that gorgeous dress.  Do you want people to notice the flowers first, or the beautiful bride?

So I'd vote for using a little contrast, like a mix of white, ivory, and blush colored flowers, or add a little greenery or hypericum berries, or some pearl or crystal floral accents to add some interest and subtle color.  Maybe some bling or champagne colored ribbon on the stems.

Thank you everyone for your opinions! I love the idea of using muted lavender and pink flowers and also using the same color bouquet wrap as my sash- I did not think of that!

What about a paler version of your BMs bouquets?  I agree, I do not like white flowers because they do not stand out.  I love the look of the flowers popping against the gown!
