White flowers, white dress?

Our colors are black and white. I'm wearing an Ivory gown, my BM will be in black. I want to stay with the black and white theme for everything but do white flowers clash with an ivory dress? I have read that white flowers can make your dress look dingy.   I am planning on using white roses for the BM bouquets.

White flowers are never a true stark white.  White flowers tend to be more creamy and will in no way make your dress look dingy.

Ditto PP. Also, are you carrying white flowers as well or just your BM? If it's just your BM and you're having other colors in your bouquet, there's even less chance of them making your dress look dingy, because they'll be carried by the BM, not you.

I would let your florist know that your dress is ivory, so you don't want any pure white flowers, but rather would like ivory or off white flowers.

I have an Ivory dress and I'm doing white flowers with yellow roses underneath. My florist recommended it. I don't think they will make your dress look dingy at all!

I'm wearing an ivory dress and carrying white flowers. One florist I met with showed me the difference between white and ivory flowers, and I actually liked the white better. You'll be beautiful!

No, this is not a problem. The thing about an all white bouquet against a white (or ivory) dress however, is that sometimes they don't show up well in photos. They kind of all blend together and texture and nuance can be lost. Make sure the florist incorporates some intersting greenery to define the bouquet against your dress in photos!

I agree with this and that is the exact reason why I am not a fan of the look for myself, but it can look very elegant if done right.
