Flowers

what?'s do I ask the florist??

I made an appt today with a florist for tomorrow morning.... and I'm realizing that I don't know what I'm supposed to "do" when I get there.  I wrote down exactly I need and how many for everything but my bouquet, and some flowers that I like for my bouquet. do I just ask for prices or what?? I want to be prepared!

    Here are my suggestions:
    Pricing? (obviously)
    Deposit/payment policy
Do they charge to deliver/set up/take down?
What time will they arrive the day of the wedding?  When will they pick up any items?
Have they done weddings at your venue before?
How long before the wedding date can you make changes (i.e., more or less centerpieces depending on RSVPs, you change your mind, you have an extra usher, etc.)
Will they provide a mockup of your flowers (so you can see a sample beforehand)? Cost?
Will the flowers you want to use be in season/available?  If not, how much more is the cost?  What would they suggest as an alternative?

That's all I can think of.  It's also important that you have a good rapport with your florist--that you sort of "click" with them and that you are on the same page regarding the vision for your wedding.

Make sure they don't just substitute flowers without your consent.  Like you want calla lillies but when they go to do your flowers the calla lillies are all wilted.  Will they contact you or just sub in whatever is available?
