Did you stalk your registry?

I accidentally saw last week some items had been purchased when I was making some changes to our BB&B registry.

I mentioned it to two friends and both said they stalked their registry the entire time!  I'd rather be surprised -- but is it the norm to watch your registry purchases???

I think it's normal but I didn't do it.  I wanted to be surprised.  We did get all our HM registry emails though--I couldn't figure out how to turn it off.

I didn't until I got an email from BB&B that one of our items discontinued & I had to change some stuff. I never really expected anything so I was super excited to see a lot of stuff already purchased! Now it's hard not to stalk it, but I want to be surprised so I've only checked it twice since then.

Yep. Aaron kept telling me to stop, but I was unemployed and very bored and thought it was fun.

I didn't want to stalk it, but I couldn't help myself!  With such a big wedding, I do keep verifying that items aren't discontinued, and that there are enough items for people to have options.

I did... totally guilty.  Part of it was because people kept telling me I needed to register for more stuff because the registries were running low on items left, but we already have a house and most of the stuff.

I ended up adding a line on our website to the tune of "Home Depot gift cards are always well loved in this house!"  That worked out suprisingly well, and now hubby is happy that his weekend projects are funded through gift cards (for now).

I have been taking peeks here and there although I didn't expect to see any activity.. ( we might have our one and only shower in late July and we are sending our formal invites this week) , but just today I saw our first 2 gifts purchased!

So, after readign this post, I decided to check my registries.  I spent about 1/2 hour last weekend updating my Crate & Barrel registry b/c a lot of the decorations, placemats, napkins, etc have been discontinued.  w/in the course of a week someone bought 4 of the 12 requested placemats and napkins, and then Crate & Barrel made then unavailable for online purchase!  ARGH!

They are getting on my nerves discontinuing everything that I register for...

Yep! I don't like surprises so I had to check. But the way I'm thinking, it is all going to be stuff that you ordered and you still have no idea who bought it, so it is still a surprise. I was still excited for every gift that I got in the mail so I don't think stalking changed anything.

Hellz yea I did!  Religiously.  And I felt no shame.  DH was worse than I was.  He'd call all excited just to tell me someone bought us the coffee maker, or whatever.
