so i have been pretty much a lurker on this board....and i've been struggling with this wedding. not because i don't want to get married, but because my parents (actually, my mother) does not want me to marry my fiance, i am hispanic and he is arab and this has been a huge issue. when i got engaged my mother was so upset, she never even congratulated me, and then she asked me to hide the engagement from my family. with time i thought she would be more accepting, but yesterday, when my fiance was over for dinner, she told him she never imagined in her worst nightmare that i would marry him. it was terrible, and my fiance felt like crap. im not sure what to do anymore. we both have been struggling with the wedding and trying to make everyone happy, but the stress has become too much for us. does anyone have any advice? im so upset and anxious i cant eat, sleep,....
