Wedding Ceremony & Reception Music Discussions

ceremony music

Hey!  I'm having an outdoor wedding at a resort that is on the beach.  The wedding will be on the garden of the resort overlooking the beach.  There will be about 34 people there, so its going to be small and intimate.   I'm having a hard time deciding what type of music to play.  I love the sound of a cello/violin, but I'm wondering if that's going to sound too posh or formal?  I was also thinking of a guitar/violin combo or a harp?  Any suggestions??

harp on the beach....not a good combination.

cello on the beach.....only if there is a hard surface for the cellist.  otherwise, the cellist won't be able to play.

It really comes down to what music the violinist plays as to the formallity.  If they play really formal music, then it will come across as formal.  If they are more relaxed, it will be relaxed.  Most good violinists can do whatever you want.

For the size you are talking, a violin or violin/cello violin/guitar will carry very well.
