"WTH" Moment of the Day

I just came back from the office.  I had locked my room up, leaving out my purse, my iPhone and my desk unlocked.  I came back and there were four of our A/V students in my room taping something.  Now, I wouldn't have had a problem with it if I had been in there and they asked me, but this means that a teacher let them in to my room without my permission.  Not cool on so many levels. 

Did you have one today too?

That sucks Julie!  Mine has been a whole series of it today, but its all related to one thing.  I work for a counselor's office.  Basically, up until this year BCBS contracted out their mental health to a different company Magellan.  This year, they decided they were going to do it themselves.  Its the beginning of the year so I have to call and verify everyone's benefits....and these new people have no idea what they are doing!  I was on hold for like 45 minutes on several occasions and when I finally spoke to someone they just seemed so confused about everything.  Its frustrating!

My venue just told me my deposit is non-refundable. When I was informed it was.

Not to mention they told me if we got a small bar package that the cash bar would also go towards are food and beverage minimum. And now she's telling me it doesn't.

Both these things ADD about $4000 to our budget. Which means, if these things ARE true. I have to find a new venue

Yes, plane tickets to Denver for our ski trip next month have dropped.   I booked through Orbitz solely for their "price assurance" option.   Well, Orbitz no longer offers American Airlines so it is now hereby impossible for us to get a refund.

I just got done with a heated conversation with customer service which, of course, got me nowhere.

Ugh, this WHOLE day has been a WTH day.

I was almost ran off the road this afternoon. I was mergering into a lane speeding up to get over and the lady increased her speed as well. She wouldn't let me over!

I'm totally not a road rage person at all. I was just trying to merge into the lane.WTH!

Oh geeze, that a WHOLE other issue. We were going to sign the contract with them today.

She had saved a contract to her desktop that was made up on dec. 14 for me (when i originally asked her to hold the date, which you can do for up to 10 days) ....so the dates are wrong. When i emailed her back stating this, she told me its an old contract, and if she changed the dates she'd have to change the rental price to the new UPPED 2011 price...but if i signed the dec. 2010 contract and got her the deposit tomorrow she could back date the payment to 2010 and keep it as is.

BUT the 2010 contract is WRONG! and she can't fix any of it because the computer "automatically populates" that stuff. So it would changed the rental price and dates....

Oh honey... you gave them a deposit without a contract? That's a giant no-no.  ETA: Ignore this ... I just re-read that you didn't do that, whew!! 

Does this venue have a manager/owner you could speak with?  Sounds like your getting the run around.

Haha, NOOOOOOO we exchanged no money :)...THANK GOD!

I've tried but i just keep getting the "i'll have her call you"...i am getting a run around, and it's SO frustrating, especially because I know lauren and one of my girlfriends had/having a wonderful experience here. But this bimbo can't get her sh*t straight.

That's crazy.   If she is willing to "back date" your deposit and such then someone should have the authority to over ride the rental rate for your contract.

Are you just totally in love with the venue?  If it were me, I would look around again to see if there is something else in your price range.  If you say no thanks, she might change her tune (don't do this if you really want that venue, though - it may backfire!)

I <u>was</u> just <strong>totally</strong> in love with it. But i just called them back (she told me she forgot about me, how nice) And she confirmed with me she told me completely wrong things when i went to go view it, AND when i did a followup call. 

So this whole time i've been basing my wedding on false pretenses...there's just no way it's going to work. So i'm on the hunt again! UGH! it sucks going backwards :(

Not really, the problem is Paula doesn't know what she's talking about, EVER. She'll say something, and I'll point out that it's super weird, and she goes and talks to someone else and corrects herself. So I talked to her probably four times on the phone, and tons through emails before I even went up there to look. My parents, FI, and his mother and her BF came, they all heard the same thing I did. So we planned the whole entire budget, and the whole wedding for THERE, on numberous false numbers. She completely screwed it up. There's just no starting from scratch sadly, I just have to find a new venue.
