Do I need to have a photographer?

I live in a really small town in wyoming and Ive looked around for photographers. Most want a high amount of money for horrible quality. would it be okay if i just had my future sister in law take our pictures for our line and stuff? Shes pretty nifty with a camera and has a brand new nikon. I just dont really know what my other options are because I am not willing to spend a ton of money (that we dont really have) on crappy pictures. Let me know please. Thanks.

I'm having someone I know who has a great Nikkon take our pics.  Its taking a risk to have someone you know take them....because you won't ever get your wedding day to do over.  But it's totally up to you and your finance.  We went to our ceremoney spot and took some trial pics, mostly because our wedding will be outside.  We checked out the sun, shade, and made sure our time of day was the same.  That way we knew where and what works best.  :)

What if the pictures turn out bad?  Dont you think that might affect your relationship with your future sister in law.  Remember the pictures are the only tangible thing left after the wedding and what you have to look back on.  I really would look around at other professionals in your area or even a few hours away. PHotography was one thing I didn't want to leave to chance on my wedding day.

if you care about having totally awesome pictures, then hire someone. Plus, i'd think that your future sister in law might feel like she's missing out on the wedding by having to take pictures.

Hmmmm, I've never been to Wyoming.     I'm a real wedding photographer in Nashville,TN.    (I've even just yesterday seen that someone raved about me on these boards)

Perhaps I would be willing to work a sweet deal for you, as I have always wanted to see Wyoming.   Just a thought.  Hit me up if interested.
