Has anyone used Visual Image photography?

Hello,

I am looking into booking Visual Image Productions for both photographer and videographer (www.visualimageprod.com).  I cant seem to find any reviews online, so I am interested in hearing from actual people about their work.  All input is greatly appreciated.

Also, if anyone has any other reccomendations of photographers in the NY/NJ area please let me know.  We are getting married at the Crystal Plaza in Livingston, NJ.

Thanks!

we used Zorn Photography , www.mzorn.com  He's amazing, and local....
  • My husband and I used Visual Image because it was our reception site's vendor. We thought things were great the day of the wedding. They were very prompt, nice and easy to work with. However we were told prior to the wedding to not give them a list of immediate family members to take pictures with because "they know to get that" but they failed to ever take ONE nice picture of me and my brother. The only shot I have is of us goofing off dancing. My husband only got one with his sister because she reminded him that night. In the chaos of the day it's easy to forget these things and I wish we ignored them and gave them a list anyway.

We also wanted a special shot taken with sparklers that when we tried it  on our wedding night they told us "they got it". Well that wasn't the truth, all they got was a bunch of smoke which we would have understood but when they said "they got it", we assumed they did and were really looking forward to that picture.

For our album when we requested that one picture be in color not black and white my husband was told that a color image "never existed." This was a lie. The file was misplaced or the photographer, Brian, simply didn't want to dig around and find it. With enough complaints MIRACULOUSLY the color image was found.

In my DVD of the wedding they completely CUT OUT my maid of honor's speech so I had to complain and they had to redo it.

My BIGGEST complaint is that our contract that was paid in full stated an album of 80 images, 40 sides (40 pages) The photographers took our 80 selected images and made a 47 page spread. They are trying to charge us $35 for each extra page. So now we keep going back and forth with them on price and trying to condense our album to what was in the contract.

It seems they do the extra pages to get couples to like the layout more and then cave in and pay the extra for the pages. For the price you pay, I'm sure you can search around and find something better, that doesn't try to get more money out of you after the wedding.

    DO NOT USE http://www.visualimageprod.com <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

I had signed a contract with this vendor for a large package -$6100 which included many extras that I have added like (2) 16 X 24 portraits, (2) 8 X 10 portraits, (2) parents albums, my album, thank you cards, still picture montage, video and additional images.  Unfortunately, I had cancelled the wedding 2 weeks before and I completely understood having to pay something since I cancelled but the company gave me back $1100 dollars which I find to be completely inappropriate.  The contract says a 35 % fee plus deposit would be deducted but they already had all of my money.  I in good faith went the week before and paid cash. I tried to reason with them, as far as charging me for the basic package since I went so above and beyond so that it covered their cost and they still made something although they did not perform any services.  How do you charge for albums and portraits that were never created, film that was never even taken????? The cost on the contract for services was $2400 and additional products $3700.  They would not work with me at all which was sad due to the unfortunate circumstances of a wedding cancellation. I found them to be uncompassionate and extremely unprofessional. To top it off they were recommended by my cousins who are also exceedingly disappointed in their actions. To say the least I would never recommend them or suggest them to anyone, you never know what is going to happen and you want to know you are dealing with reputable people, ones that have a heart. Best of luck, there are many vendors out there that would be happy to have your business.
