Texas-Dallas and Ft. Worth

Reception venue visits this Thurs.

I was wondering if anyone has visited, gotten any info. or has any opinions about the following places? They are all in Ft.Worth.

YWCA
Marquis on Magnolia
Ashton Depot
Victory Arts Center

Thank you!

YWCA - Gorgeous!  And all the money to rent the facility goes directly to benefit the YWCA which is pretty cool.  It's a very budget/DIY friendly venue.  I have a close friend that was married there this year... it was amazing.

From the websites and pictures, that is the one that I am leaning toward the most. It does look gorgeous from the pictures!

YWCA is very pretty and very budget friendly!  I went to 2 weddings there recently and they were gorgeous but from the seat I was in I couldn't see the bride and groom standing because I had pillars in my way.  I'm not sure if they can arrange the seats differently but that is my only suggestion for that location!

Knottie Appletango had her wedding at the YWCA and had good things to say about it.

I could have sworn I've seen a wedding on a photographer's blog at Victory Arts Center recently.  Anyway I googled it and found this.

I went to a wedding last year at the Visctory Arts Center and it was gorgeous.  I loved the venue.  Everything was light, open, and flowed well.

I LOVED the YWCA. Sadly by the time we got serious about getting married this year it was booked completely for Fridays/Saturdays.

Ashton Depot is very nice too.

Are you set on having it in Downtown Ft. Worth or do you just want Ft. Worth side of town?
  • edited December 2011
Ft. Worth side of town, I would love ANY suggestions that you might have! We found a chapel that we absolutely LOVE, Marty Leonard Chapel and we would like the reception site to be semi close to the chapel but we are still open to anything in Ft.Worth. And if we find something else that we like that is more budget friendly, we might just rule out Marty Leonard all together! We love it but it is sort of pricey. We are still just in the beginning stages of looking and like I said, we are open to look at pretty much anything! (:

Marty Leonard is GORGEOUS. YWCA is nice, look into Bass Hall too. You can rent a few different studios. I'm doing mine at the modern. It's beautiful but I don't think it's the most budget friendly option, although when I started planning I did.

I thought I checked out most of FW, but I didn't tour these places...I followed the links out of curiosity, and they're gorgeous!

As for other places in FW that are similarly big, grand, ballroom-type receptions- I've seen pictures of some Bass Hall receptions that are really pretty. And I know the T&P building does weddings and is pretty reasonably priced.

I loved photos of weddings at the Renaissance Worthington and City Club in Fort Worth, too. The minimums for a Saturday wedding, unfortunately, were too much for me.

Since I needed a budget-friendly place, I looked mainly at 809 at Vickery, Fort Worth Community Arts Center, and Stockyard Station. I liked them all.

Yes, I fell in love with Marty Leonard as soon as I saw it!

The City Club is really nice but definitely out of our budget! We went and looked at Stockyards Station last week and it is just not our style. Thank you for the other suggestions, I will have to check them out!

Well, I'm getting married at Sky Creek Ranch Golf Club in Keller... it looks like a castle in the back.  Its stunning!  The cool thing is that Amy - the coordinator - doubles as a day of coordinator, and she will negotiate!  We ended up getting like 2k off the rental fees because she was willing to negotiate.  I don't know what your guest list size is, but it holds up to 150 people, which is perfect for us.  It's definitely worth a look!

Also, she has a huge inventory of linens, centerpeices, decorations etc that she lets you use!  I love it.

Here's a pic of the back of it...

I went to a wedding at the Ashton Depot and it was very nice.  I had a great time at that wedding.  :)

I have a friend getting married at the Ashton Depot and my photographer has done a ton of weddings there, it's beautiful and has great space!

I've never been to a wedding at the VAC but I some of our engagement photos there and a few of my bridal portraits. It's also very nice and has a cool vintage feel to it. If you're looking for something a little different this would be great.
