Twogether in Texas

Has anyone used the Twogether in Texas program in order to save $60off your marriage license. We're doing pre-marital counseling with our pastor, but he does not have a set curriculum, so it is not approved through the program.

I have heard of free 8-hour sessions that will give you the certificate so that you can get the $60 savings. Anyone know of one of those programs?

If you're not sure what I'm talking about, check out www.twogetherintexas.org

Fi and I are thinking about doing it. Just not sure if 8hrs of our time is worth the $60...

I did a program at my church that qualified for it. We just had it as Sunday School every Sunday morning for 8 weeks. I've never done the class, it's nice to save money, but that wasn't nearly as important to me as the counseling. I'd spend the 8 hours to save $60 tho, but I'm cheap :)

We did the "Before You Say I Do" classes at my church. It's open to non-members, and it's for 7 weeks, every Sunday morning. $50 per couple. Definitely worth it!

We did one of those 8-hour Saturdays to save $60 even though we're also doing the church premarital counseling.  It was sort of a long day, but it's not too bad.  The other couples there made it entertaining.  They also give you free lunch.  I thought it was worth it.  It's not as personal as the church counseling but I think any pre-marital counseling can't hurt.

We found out about it at a bridal open house at one of the country clubs.  The one for the Dallas area ones is run through http://www.anthemnorthtexas.org/

The website has a list of upcoming classes.  And you can sign up online.  They have lots of locations, we went to one at Brookhaven College.
