SA Wednesday

Today I was struck with the realization that the school to which I am applying does not get out for Christmas break until December 21.  =(

Turned in my paper that is due tonight last night, and trying to get my paper that is due tomorrow night done this afternoon. Then I get to go home and rush to finish my sister's tshirt quilt because she'll be home from school for break tonight and I can't work on it any while she's home :)

Can't believe today is already Wednesday!

Speaking of t-shirt quilts, I found a blog post about making a t-shirt rug using a hula hoop to weave it, and I think I might try with my bag full of old sorority shirts.  I was just going to donate them back to the chapter, but I might try this...

And then probably give the rug to the chapter.  :B

<div>That's so funny you said that! One of my pledge sisters gave me a box of old shirts that were her older sisters- she went through about 4 yrs before us- and I was thinking about doing something similar for my chapter. If you come across that blog post again can you link it here? Sounds like something I'd like to try :)</div>

I realized this morning that my mom was right, even though I thought she was just being annoying at the time. :(  I did take on too much this semster, but I thought I should be able to handle it.  After all, I know people who have way more on their plate than I do.  Apparently a full-time job, full-time school, and volunteer work is just too much for my little brain.  Now I get to re-take a course for the first time in my very long college career.

Today I feel like a failure.

Please excuse my crappy mood. Embarassed

Thanks Amanda! That is awesome! Reminds me of a woven pouch thing we made out of yarn when I was in elementary school. I'll definitely be using that for all the tshirt scraps I have left over from these quilts- the colors won't be perfect but it's better than throwing them in the trash! Pinned to my DIY board :)

Angelsong- Don't let it get you down too much. I know it is disappointing for something like that to happen, and it's natural for us to think we should have been able to handle things. But girl- full time school AND work AND volunteering?? I don't think I would have passed ANY of my classes in a semester like that! Take a day or two to mope if you need to, but then remind yourself that you've got a break from school for at least a month before you have to tackle it again. (sorry if I sound annoyingly motivational, if you're still in moping mode, feel free to ignore me!)

LOL you're fine -- I'm not ignoring you!  I'm not really mopey, just furious with myself for not being able to keep up.  I have a friend who is over 40, has 3 children, works two full-time nursing jobs, and is an A average student.  I have no idea when she sleeps, and she always has an amazing attitude and is at the top of her game.  So those are the type of people I chose to compare myself to...which is dumb, especially since I'm fairly sure she's one-of-a-kind in being able to successfully manage all of the things she does. I don't know, I just have this sense of intense personal failure when I can't handle what I chose to put on my own plate.  However, if this was happening to someone else, I would have said the exact same thing you did.  Why it doesn't apply to me in my own mind, I have no idea. :P

Thanks for your kind words -- I really do appreciate them.

</div><div>Angelsong- You're welcome! And I understand being mad when you can't handle what you take on. We feel like we're supposed to be invincible, and then the first time we really screw something up we aren't prepared AT ALL to handle it. It will get better- and it's almost Friday!! :)</div><div>
