Officiant invited to RD?

Just curious if the wedding officiant and their SO is supposed to be invited to the RD?

Yes.  If you know them well, they'll likely attend.  If you don't and have just hired them for the ceremony, they'll probably decline.
"Trix, it's what they/our parents wanted. Why so judgemental? And why is your wedding date over a year and a half ago? And why do you not have a groom's name? And why have you posted over 12,000 posts? And why do you always say mean things to brides?" palegirl146

My experience is if your officiant is your minister and/or a friend/family member you invite them.  If the officiant is just someone you found online or in the yellow pages you don't invite them.

There is no "suppose to" in weddings, but it would be nice if you invited your officiant regardless of your relationship with them. They can always decline, but they are playing a big role in your wedding day! GL

I invited mine and she declined.  I think it's the polite thing to do.
