Cake and Punch Reception

What time would yall consider to be a good time for a cake and punch reception?? We are doing some finger foods, but nothing major. We would prefer for it to be in the evening rather than during the day.

We did this, and had it at two in the afternoon. Avoid a meal time. If you want to do evening, I'd go very late -- 8 pm at the earliest.

I agree with mandasue....I would start after dinner time so people can eat a big meal before coming

Ditto the other two girls.  If you do it near a meal time, people will probably expect a meal.
