Ideas for Rehearsal Dinner?

I was hoping to get some advice on what to do for my rehearsal dinner. The biggest challenge I am facing is leaving out some very important people that are not in the wedding out of the rehearsal dinner. You always feel you have to invite that person if this person is coming. We are thinking Maggiano's will be our place but have not completely decided yet. We have a budget! Any suggestions or ideas? Thanks!Smile

We are inviting out out of town guests, the wedding party and their dates, and then all family.
We will probaly end up having aroung 60 ppl, and we are doing a italian night. You know, red & white table cloths, pasta. It' be just very relaxed and just a fun time =)

If these ppl are really important to you, even if they are not in the wedding, i'd invite them anyway. I say go for it =)

We are inviting only the wedding party and their SO's and families to the RD and of course our parents and the officiant and his wife. We were originally going to have it in a private room at a restaurant, but we have over 40 people and that would get very expensive so my mom came up with an idea to have it in the backyard. She and my aunt are renting a tent in case of rain and they're doing a Caribbean theme. They'll be serving chicken, shrimp, ribs, fruit skewers, and are having coronas and a signature fruity cocktail. And afterwards we're all going to jump in the pool and have fun and relax. I think it's a great idea, because I really want it to be more relaxing than anything else since it's the night before the wedding.

Have you thought of the backyard bbq idea? This way you could invite more of the people you didn't want to be left out because of budget constraints.
