NEED OPINION ON THIS PLEASE

My daughter will be a MOH in a May, 2011 wedding.  She lives 2 hrs from the couple and will be graduating college the weekend before the wedding.  Wedding is in her hometown and her long term boyfriend is the BM, friends with the groom since age 2.  She was surprised she was asked to be MOH since she had not known the bride for more than a year.  Only other bridesmaids are two 15 year old cousins.

This is her first real wedding she will be participating in and she has told couple she is happy to help any way she can, but will be very limited on time the three weeks before week leading up to wedding.  She is concerned about hosting a bridal shower and feels this will be difficult due to distance and time crunch leading up to her graduation.  One thought I had and would like opinions , would it be tacky if she and her boyfriend take the couple and have messages and go out to eat about 3-4 weeks before the wedding?  They will probably all be in need of this and I am sure the couple would greatly appreciate this.

Opinions greatly appreciated and TIA!

I think that would be a great idea. The soon to be married couple would love a nice escape from wedding planning and stress. And im sure that your daughter would like the break from school stress too. haha. Sounds win/win for everyone.

I think it depends on the couple and if this is something they would like (the massages). The dinner would be nice. I don't think she is obligated to throw the shower as there are plenty of other people that could help out with this (family members).

I would absolutely love it if someone did that for me. I don't see it as a bad idea at all. I do agree it depends on the couple as well, but I would not see it as insulting in any way to mention it.
