Awkward family wedding moments

What are going to be yours?

I'll start...... I invited one aunt and one uncle who use to be married to my dad's brother and mom's sister, respectively. Both have RSVP'd yes (shocker to me)! This should be fun!

EDIT: I'm sure there are people out there with more awkward moments than mine!

Yeah, I think mine will come from slightly prejudiced grandparents who are already mad at me for a) being catholic and b) marrying a catholic.

    Here's a good one:
At FBIL's wedding, my FFIL's father pulled FSIL aside to dance with her and gave her three pieces of advice:
    1) Make love to him (FBIL) like it's the last day of your life.
    2) Make sure your sons kneel when they pee
    3) We can't remember three, but omg let me direct you back to 1 and 2.

The same grandfather thought I was FSIL once, so he hugged me, called me "Jeannie," and asked me how my kids were. Even after I told him I don't have any kids it took him a while to figure out his mistake.

Mine all came from my MIL. She got drunk early on. She walked up to our table and licked my husband on his face. She ran out of the room (from one side to the other, making a scene) in hysteria, tears running down her face towards the end of our reception. She made a few other scenes according to our guests but thankfully I didn't get to witness them.

Well one didn't come from her. We had a guest who gave a lap dance to a very stoic man that she didn't know. Thankfully he was cool with it.

FI's family is morally against drinking and doesn't really listen to music or dance. They are as conservative as it comes. My family is big, loud, and we keep the wine and music flowing. So....I think my reception will be one big, awkward family moment. Luckily, FI and I are planning on a sweetheart table so we can watch and laugh amongst ourselves.

My parents will both be in attendance. It shall be loveeeely.

At my graduation my mom hugged my grandpa (her ex-FIL) good-bye (after being a total B to the whole family). It was the awkwardest moment ever.

Then on FI's side, his aunt and uncle just got divorced, she has a new boyfriend and lives in his house. To make things even awkwarder...they're step-siblings. (They were married first, then the parents married.) but that still makes everything a little weird.

My ex whiskey tango Aunt came to my wedding. She came up to the bride's room and mentioned probably 20 times that she was my ex aunt. Then she went on to say that her little baby is growing up meaning my cousin. She never mentioned anything about me. I figured that there was going to be a smack down between her and my uncle's new girlfriend. There wasn't a smack down at my wedding, but there was one on at my brother's!

At my cousin's wedding a few years ago, we were practically the set-up break down slaves. Literally I stayed up until 2 am helping that side of the family with my cousin's wedding. It was a little awkward when they came up to me at 8:30 and said they were leaving, but that they had a good time....yeah...gee thanks.

Right after the anniversary dance I had my arm wrapped around DH's back. I felt some one squeezing and rubbing my arm. I asked DH if he was touching my arm and he said no. They I asked him who was on the other side of him and he said it was my SIL. AWKWARD!

And it wasn't "We are in a corner so I'll be inconspicuous" no it was full blown center of attention. I still get comments from guests about how gross that was.

Wow, some of you have some humdingers. I was worried about my mom's husband who is an alcoholic but I think he behaved himself (although I heard he shut down the Library that night and my mom was pretty hungover at brunch the next day).

The one everyone was talking about at my wedding was a non-family member who came alone and had too much to drink and flirted with every single girl there from what I heard later.

    Haha these are funny!

There is a cousin on DH's side that had way too much to drink. She spilled her drink on MOH and proceeded to call her a b*tch and some other things for no apparent reason at all. She said inappropriate things to pretty much everyone there... and she attempted to jump onto the getaway car when we were leaving.

Our family table will consist of my dad and his two ex wives to either side (my mom, my sisters mom) who will both have dates.

    Should be interesting.

That does sound interesting. I thought we would have issues with MIL and FIL and his wife but thankfully there weren't many issues between them and what issues/incidents there were, I didn't find out until afterwards. But no way would I be having a group table with the 3 of them, I had to adjust things and say no to things we wanted to do to avoid their crap.

    Good luck with this Kendall!
