wedding favor idea?

Ok here's the scoop! My fiance and I love to gamble. We have gone to numerous casinos & both have such a blast. He suprised me with a trip to Biloxi so we could be by the beach & gamble. After he proposed on the beach we went inside & won a lot of money...which ended up being such a great night!

So...with that said what are y'alls thoughts about having a lottery ticket for a party favor? What could we do to spice it up? Do you think that is cheap or cheesy sounding? If we did do this...do you think attaching a little letter about our engagement & why we chose what we did woud be appropriate or too much?

Ok, let me know what you think!

Hmmm....That's an interesting idea. I wouldn't write the entire engagement story. I would just say something like

"Here's to hoping you have found your lucky match
    Thanks for Sharing our day
    Knottie & FI"

That's corny, but you know something similar to that. Wedding favors are cheesy no matter what anyway!

I think if most people know how you got engaged, and know you and FI personally and know you like to gamble, then they will understand. It's unique and different, I like it.

I think I would do scratch offs instead (I'm assuming when you say lottery ticket, you mean the ones with the numbers on them).  That way you can buy them well in advance and not have to worry about running to the gas station a few days before your wedding to get the tickets.  Plus if the guests scratch them at the reception, you could find out right away if anyone won anything, which I think is fun.

Not if they're done tastefully and thoughtfully. Favors, such as this case, can be very personal and very fun.

I agree this could be really cute. We are personalizing our favors. But I know people will just throw them away after the wedding, or they will go somewhere in a drawer in their house never to be seen again. That's why I said that.

Yes, I am talking about a scratch off lottery ticket. Any other ideas on how to decorate the ticket??

I had a friend who did scratch offs for her favors and she folded them up and put them in cute little boxes. Around the boxes she tied a ribbon and a piece of paper that read "Wishing you all the luck in love we have found." I thought it was a cute idea.

(Hopefully no one is morally opposed to gambling. :-P)
