I got my STDs out this week. I have more to send though, and I can't find the original postcards I sent (I have 40 left somewhere), so some people may have my old postcards with a return address label on them covering our old address. I feel tacky and I know that as soon as I send them I'll find the right postcards with our new addy on them.

    I'm pumped to go back to my old Kentucky home this weekend for my dad's retirement party :) Is it weird to be excited to be allowed to sleep in the same room with J in my parent's house since we're married now? ;)

    I still get amazed by this as well. For the first time ever I told my mom today DH and I are going OOT together! It's a first I'm excited about too!

    finally got my venue booked (or re-booked). :)))

    Althought I feel totally weird about having my reception at a restaurant, we decided to book the Fenix Room on the rooftop of the downtown (McKinney St) El Fenix Location. The view is AWESOME and they don't charge for the room- just food and beverage (which is VERY reasonable). If there are any other budget brides out there, I say definitely check it out if you are okay with it being in restaurant. (just note, it is completely separate- upstairs- from the main dining room). Any reviews from girls who have had their receptions/rehearsal dinner here?

    It's wedding month!  I'm totally going to wear white after labor day this year!

    The boo is people don't seem to want to RSVP for the rehearsal dinner--deadline was today, still missing half! What gives!  I hate bugging people.

    Oh, I'm there with you.  Plus we've had RSVPs for people who weren't invited... I agree, it's the NUMBER ONE STRESS!  Nothing will stress me out more than this has, well, except for the fact that I called Men's Warehouse yesterday and the only groomsman who has paid for and gotten measured for his tux was my special needs little brother (love it that he schooled everyone)!  Luckily an email to the groomsmen that said they had to go NOW or else go to the wedding in their underwear seemed to do the trick.

    yeah same here, i've had people who have invited them selves, that my parents or FI's parents say "just let them come"....i cant keep "just letting people come"....there's not going to be enough room for the people that were actually invited if i keep "letting people come"....SHEESH!!

    I'm still waiting on 60 people to RSVP....17 of which i'm praying say no...

    Is that bad? lol

    Aeliza - we almost rented out a restaurant for our reception -- the price was right for everything except the alcohol. I see no reason to feel weird about having it at a restaurant at all, especially if you have a whole separate area for your guests. Especially El Fenix. I've only been to the FW location but I looooove their food.

    Congrats to everyone that's getting so close!

    I personally found the RSVP process to be an annoyance (we had something like 40 non-RSVPers, out of 150 invited) but it was minor compared to the aggravation that was compiling the guest list. :(

    Nobody from my side ever did RSVP to the RD. (It was mailed just before the wedding, and people either didn't get them or didn't understand what they were). Luckily I already knew who was planning to come and whether or not they were bringing a date, so I just RSVP'd for them.

    Our RD was at a restaurant.  It worked out perfectly.  We had special menus, so people couldn't order something too expensive.  I have never been to the McKinney El Fenix, but from your description, it sounds very nice.  Congrats on the AW.

    The reason the RSVPing wasn't too big a deal for me was because all the non-RSVPers were people on H's or his parent's portion of the guest list, and surprisingly, they were completely willing to do the follow-up. That was one of the few wedding tasks I could completely outsource!

    We kind of did ours backwards--RD at a hotel in a ballroom and reception at a restaurant.  However, everything was great so I don't see anything wrong with it!

    I had problems with people sending back their RSVPS as well.  I definitely had to call/email a bunch of people to get responses.  I don't understand why its so hard to send them back! :-p
