Art Institutes?

Do any of you have experience (good, bad or otherwise) with any of the Art Institutes? If so, I have some questions for you!

My BIL did this.  He graduated over 3 years ago and is not using the degree, somewhat by his choice.  While he was not the one to foot the bill, 2 years cost about $80,000.

Chris has a degree from there.  He didn't find much work with that degree and is now at UNT getting his bachelors in computer science.

Thanks ladies! I'm not looking to attend school there, but any perspectives are useful for me.

Waste of money. I got a job straight out of it, but that was based on who I met there, not what I learned there. I could've learned what they taught from just buying a book. The amount of teaching is not equal to the amount of money you're putting into that place.

The biggest problem with the Art Institutes is a "for profit" college... For Profit education is well known for shortchanging the students. I don't recommend them at all. In short, they scam kids and don't give them a decent education for the money they're spending.

Yeah, the for profit thing is what keeps nagging at me.

Cheryl - Any observations on the library? Did you ever use it?

Sorry, just saw this. I used the library a few times. Mostly if I just wanted a quiet place to go between classes. It's pretty small (no bigger than a jr. high library) and not a very busy place. And I am specifically talking about the Ai of Dallas. I know they opened one over in FW and I don't know how that one is.
Also, they've done some remodeling since I graduated in '04, so I don't know if it's changed.
