Hey ladies,
I had a bad experience with a vendor, and I don't want anyone else going through the same thing!
Perfect In Beauty Makeup. I found her on The knot. DO NOT USE HER.
Long story short, I had a bad vibe from the moment I had my first consultation but instead of going with my gut, I went ahead and booked her anyway.
When you go to her "studio", it's pretty ghetto. Her portfolio included pictures on her tiny little laptop screen and that's all she had to show me. She didn't seem to know what she was doing, or what she was talking about. HER makeup looked like crap. When i went to give her my credit card, she said she didn't have the internet at her studio, she had to steal it from the tenant next door...wow, what a great way to do business. So she couldn't get it to work, then she tried using her cell phone to get on paypal to process my payment. That didn't work either. Then she proceeded to send me home to do it myself. Once again, super professional.
So, we set up a time to do my trial for the wedding, and she was also going to do my hair and makeup for the engagement pictures. The day of the engagement pictures arrives, and I go to her studio where we agreed to meet, and it was written in the contract we would meet, at the agreed time. Nobody was at the studio. I call her cell phone, nobody answers. I wait outside for 30 minutes and leave her messages. Finally, I just leave. At this point I'm flustered because I'm not sure what I'm going to do about hair and makeup, and our pictures are in 2 hours, in downtown Dallas, in rush our traffic.
So, I head to the local Ulta, and THANK GOODNESS they were able to fit me in. Unfortunately, because of Vetty (Perfect in Beauty Makeup), we were over an hour late for our pictures. My makeup looked pretty crappy because it was done by, well, some 16 year old in a hurry who probably didn't give a hoot because she was getting paid 12 bucks an hour.
Vetty calls me finally and says "I'm so sorry, my daughter was up all night sick and I totally forgot to call you and tell you I wasn't going to be able to make it. Can we reschedule?"....."Um, no we can't reschedule!!!!!!! My pictures are in an hour!!!!!" I told her I wanted my money back, and she proceeds to say "All of it, or just for today?" I said "You've got to be kidding. ALL OF IT!"
I'm not sure how much more unprofessional you could be. How hard would it have been to pick up the phone, or shoot me an email that night, or that morning, telling me you would send someone else out to do my hair and makeup, or you couldn't make it. That way I could have ample time to find other arrangements. Then she expects me to still give her my business after she stands me up!?!? Ridiculous.
That's my rant. So, please do yourself a favor and do not use her, and tell all the brides you know not to use her either. She doesn't deserve to be in business.
To top it off, the makeup artist I did end up going with, who is fabulous, by the way, said she knew Vetty. Vetty was a student of hers and she said she was shady back then too. She went around telling people she had been doing makeup and airbrushing for years when she had NO experience at all.
Be careful ladies!!
