B&M Monday

Besides that it's Monday.... it looks gorgeous outside and I hate that I have to be inside.

It's too beautiful to be trapped in a windowless room with teenagers who can't follow simple instructions.  It's TAKS Week.  On the other hand, it's also Jeans Week which is way more exciting than Shark Week.

I am just annoyed because I am about to start my period and I have really not been in a good mood lately.  Plus, I don't feel like I am losing any weight!  It's frustrating!!!  But the bloating doesn't help...

We just got told we are going to trial.  Tomorrow.  There were 2 cases ahead of us so we all took the weekend off.  Well, it was nice while it lasted!

It's beautiful out!  Of course I'm like Julie... I wouldn't know it being windowless all day.  I think I may eat lunch in my car just to be outside.

I just got contacts for the first time this past Friday. I am having the hardest time taking them out, its much easier putting them in. My husband had to take them out for me because it was 3am and I still couldn't get them out Frown  I am getting so frustrated with them, I feel like I will never be able to do it!

I'm pretty good.  My only B&M is that my brother and sisters appear to not be coming to our wedding.  Yeah.  They are half siblings, but we still grew up together and keep in touch.

It's funny, the work of the wedding is mostly a snap, (thanks to all of the help you ladies have given me along the way!) but it is the actions of others that makes wedding planning a pain in the butt.

melissa, it will take practice, but you WILL be able to take them out and you will love them!!!! if they start getting dry when you take them out... use some eye drops and wait about 10 minutes.

My ex-hubby got my daughter contacts but she quit wearing them because she can't take them out.  We've tried everything.  It made me mad too because if I had been at that doctor's office, we would not have left until we made sure she could get them in and out.

I'm dealing with stupid drama here at work and it's making my work day very unenjoyable. I am not 16 anymore and I do not wish to participate in anyone's drama. I wish some people would grow the crap up!

Also, I don't want to hear about people's weekend conquests, if you know what I mean. I work with people that actually think others want to hear about their weekend shack up. To each, their own, I guess.

Thanks Bridget I hope your right!

I was able to take them out by myself at the eye doctor, it took me a few tries. I just don't know why I can't do it at home.

A family visit is coming sooner than I would like.

I don't get how FOX and ABC can air Victoria Secret commercials but not Lane Bryant.  If it's the sexual innuendo, I don't get that either.  Sex sells in pretty much every form and they air those commercials.  Hmmm...whatever.

Contacts will become easier with time.  I've had them for about 6 years or so and there are times I can't get them out because it is so dry.  I just close my eye for a bit and hope my eye doesn't burn when I do get them out.

Melissa-- check out the contact section of your pharmacy and see if they carry lens removers. They are probably where they carry the cases. It looks like a tiny suction cup and will remove your lens for you.
I'd probably have to use one if I had long nails, but I usually keep my nails short and it's just a small pinch with my fingers and they're out.

    Good luck with that!

I'm hating on my hair today.  It looks fine in general, but I feel like I've had the same "look" since high school and I just want something different.  Does anyone know of any good hair websites?  Whenever I try to google anything I feel like all the websites are really dated.

I looked everywhere for the suction cups but didn't find them.  My sister used the "plunger" as we called it--but hers were hard lenses, not soft so she wasn't sure it would work.  But yeah, that's an option.  I couldn't find them though.

Bridget, I know what you mean!  I always get it at the worst time and then don't feel like being around people!  I'm totally the type that will just start crying at any little thing when I am about to start....especially those ASPCA commercials!  I can't watch those!

Ooo scrapbooking sounds fun!  I have always wanted to do it, but I don't always have the patience.....there's just so much detail in some of them!  I agree!  They should have to be women for a day...on the days with cramps and back pain! :-)

This morning I woke up with "I am going to skip work today" on my mind till I realized I could take off tomorrow and I am off wendsday so that would give me a weekend in the middle of the week. So I go to work, I look at the schedule and go figure I am the  Manager on duty tomorrow so that means no calling in for me :(. So then I decided to play sick and I bailed, it was the only day this week I could get away with it. So I am having a pretty good day, now if I could only get Fi up so we can go do something wedding productive or for that matter anything productive. I hate that he works nights and I work days.

To interview for a job that's a "temp to hire" position or not.  That is the question.... :/
  • edited December 2011
Uh Mariah I was in the same deliema a few months ago.I ended up not going but that was because I didn't want to be without a job with a wedding around the corner. If the same opporunity was to arise now I would probaly go for it.
Go the the interview and see what it is all about and then make up your mind weather you would take the job if they offered it to you.

Is the temp to hire position worth it?
  • edited December 2011
I'm just scared, I leave this job with all the health benefits and go to this other job with no benefits, and then them use me for 3 months and then them be like, "oh, nevermind, we don't think you fit in here".  What am I supposed to do after that?  I like the security of this job and I would have no problems interviewing for a job that wasn't "temp to hire"...but the whole uncertainty of it freaks me out.  I may decide not to do it....I'd rather hold out for something that wasn't so uncertain and maybe even closer to home.  This job would be in Lewisville...which would be 20 more miles roundtrip than what I'm driving right now. Though the hours are somewhat better....at least I'd be getting off work at 4:30 and not 5:30 like I am right now.

Shortgirl  - I'm with you on the Lane Bryant ad!  I don't get it.  I hadn't seen the ad, but I heard DH complaining that the networks were being prejudiced because it was a plus-size model.  When I saw the ad, I couldn't believe that anyone would find it unattractive compared to a VS ad - the LB model looked amazing!

Alana and Shortgirl - Hear hear! I completely agree.

Mariah - I also think you should at least go to the interview. At the very least, it might confirm that it's not the right choice. At the very best, you could find out it's an awesome opportunity with great people. You never know unless you check it out!

You're right Anna.  There's no harm in interviewing!  So I'll see what happens.
