Quick Question on Addressing STDs

I am getting ready to finally mail out our STDs ... wohoo!  FI's mom sent me her list today, so I am working on those envelopes currently.

The problem I'm having is how to address envelopes to include the kiddos.  TK said on addressing that kid names only go on the inside envelope of invites... so what do I do for STDs?  Could someone give me an example of how to address an STD to a married couple and two kids?  Sorry, I am lost on the address etiquette of all of this!

Thanks!

I did not include kids on my save-the-dates, even FI's neice and nephew..  I kind of viewed those as more informal, so I wasn't worried about it.

However, for invites, we will not have an inner envelope, so all names of invited guests are going on the outside:
    Mr. and Mrs. ProfessorScience's FBIL/FSIL
    FNephew and FNeice.

Ditto to Professorscience. Our STD's were addressed informally and I only addressed to couple. I also didn't have inner envelopes so I put all names and/or guest on the outer envelope.

    Thank you!!!

I had the mindset that STD addressing wasn't quite as important as the actual invites, but once I started addressing them, I started doubting myself.  FI's family is coming from the Lubbock area so I want to make sure everyone understands now that their kiddos are definitely invited.    Otherwise, that might affect their decision to come altogether.

Is "Mr. and Mrs. Bill Patterson" necessary on the STDs or can you address it as "Bill and Lisa Patterson" for these?

I did the formal, "Mr. and Mrs." because of the people we were inviting from FMIL's circle who notice that sort of thing and would say something to her.

Apparently a friend's mom called him to let him know he'd gotten something in the mail that "looked important" because it was addressed to "Mr. SomethingSomething" so she wanted to open it, and it was our STD.

For our save the dates if the entire family was invited I just did "The Smith Family" if they had more than 2 kids, and if they only had two kids I did "Mr & Mrs. Smith & Kid1 & Kid2" on the second line.  Since they were on postcards it was hard enough fitting everything in the tiny space so I just made it work.  Sometimes I wonder if people even read the names...

I did what Fryer did (with the family or Parents' names and kid's name)
