Spokeo.com - CREEPY!

Hey!

So this was on the May 2010 Board and I usually avoid these things, but this website is really creepy.  Go to www. spokeo.com and search for yourself.... you will find your name, address, age, photos, interests, how much your house costs, whether or not you have kids, etc... even has options to find out about your credit, etc.   

You can remove yourself at the bottom by clicking on privacy.   I did!   It said I had kids and all of this nonsense too...

    Whoa... I can't remove myself either!  The "code" at the bottom always says I'm entering it wrong!!

    OMG, that is creepy.  It says I have kids too - wtf?  Unless they count my furbabies!  LOL!

    Weird.  I deleted me.  It doesn't have me under my married name.  Alot of my stuff was wrong, but some of it was right.

    Hmmm at first, I got a little spooked but then I did a few more searches of people I know and realized some of that info is pretty generic and some of it is wrong. I think even if you delete yourself off of here, there are going to be still be several other places where your information will still be posted. I think zabasearch.com is another one.

    Yeah, I know it is public info and available through a variety of sources.  I was just really creeped out to find it all in one place, and presented as fact. (though most of it is very, very false)

    It really irks me that they can present this information as fact.  I know there are disclaimers galore on here..but still.

    Suh-weet! It says my house is worth $2.5 Million!!! Woo-hoo! LOL - it SO SO SO isn't. This is bogus and doesn't have any info that you can't find through google anyway. It says my mother (who has been deceased for 3 years) is interested in golf and going to the beach. Silly!

    It says I'm a clerk with a high school education who lives by myself in a million dollar home- HA!

    Yeah there's a million of these type websites out there... depending on what information you have available on facebook, linkedin, tax appraisal districts (your house value).... it really is all public information but this website seems to fill in the blanks with a lot of B.S.

    I know I'm late but mine was hilarious. It said I am caucasian and in my late 20's and as you can tell by my picture, I'm not!

    i don't know how much my house is worth... sorry apartment, according to them,... but it doesn't have central heat or air!!!!.... guess my fictional kids won't mind though....
    very creepy that it has my current address that i've been at for less than a year and the other site mentioned has like all my previous addresses!!!

    Strange!
    I do find it funny that it says our house is worth $1M+ - umm no, not even close, it is actually worth under $100K.
    You can't locate me on there though!
