My wedding planner...I need your advice

Okay guys, you always have great advice about different things, so here I go:
My wedding planner has had multiple issues with the business acct when it is time to make a deposit. She stop taking money orders after the secong payment because she had a hard time cashing them, according to her, and she kept telling me that she was going to get her cc machine working, but that has yet to happen.  That was mentioned in December. She changed banks this past month, and the last three payments, at her request have to be deposited by noon, which means I always have to leave my job to go and make a payment and deposit cash into her acct instead of giving her a cashier's check, money order, or some other form of payment besides cash.  Should I be concerned becuase my gut is telling me something isn't right. She doesn't take checks, which I knew when I met her in November.  I just feel crazy...help

I would be a little concerned.  Trust your gut intstincts...it's usually right.  I wish I could tell you what to do in this situation but I really don't know.  Does she atleast give you receipts?

I would definitely be concerned!  There should be no reason for a wedding planner to not accept checks....or atleast money orders.  Sounds suspicious to me... and with that kind of money, suspicious is NOT good.
I hope that everything works out ok...I would pay attention to instinct.

Did you sign any type of contract with her? It's not hard to set up a paypal account so you can accept cc payments. She could do that if she really wanted to.

Always trust your gut. She doesn't seem very professional.

Definitely agree that you should trust your gut.

If you have a contract with her, and she gives you receipts then you are probably okay.

Otherwise, I would definitely be confirmed.   Either way, that is very unprofessional of her.

    Hey guys,
Yes I have received receipts from her and the bank
I do have a contract with her. I have confronted her about my concern but she gave me this long story about her accountant and the changes that they are making, however it didn't sit well with me.  She is doing her part as a wedding planner but I am worried about the outcome since my wedding is in October and the professionalism had gone South regarding finances. It is clear to me that she is having some money issues. I don't know if business is bad or what but it makes me nervous. I totally agree with you guys on all that you say...I just would hate to be screwed in the end.

What has she done for you thus far?

If you are worried about her taking your money and running, I would get well versed in the things she has done for you and make sure that if she split, you could still manage to plan everything on your own.

It never hurts to be prepared.
