Mii's Bridal-Update

I don’t if anyone remembers my previous post about Mii’s Bridal and the poor customer service I experienced there (see Mii’s Bridal post on 6/2/10).  Well, today, it got even worse.  I was originally promised my dress would be here Friday, June 4th, only to find out later that it wasn’t being shipped until Monday, June 7th and it would 3-4 days after they shipped, which would put it Thursday or Friday, June 10/11.  So, yesterday I made a trip to Dallas to take my niece/nephew to the Aquarium and decided to check if it was in while I was in town.  When I called, they told me it wasn’t in yet, but that it should be here today, if not, Monday at the absolute latest. So, my fiancé called this afternoon to see if it had arrived yet today…the lady who originally sold me the dress was on the phone and told him that it was shipped YESTERDAY, meaning it wont be here until the middle of next week.  So, apparently they lied to me AGAIN yesterday.  I feel like I’m at a complete loss with these people.  I don’t know what to do.  When the manager *aka-owner, got on the phone before, she yelled at me and was horribly rude. I know that it’s not their fault the dress wasn’t shipped until yesterday but there’s no reason what-so-ever that they should be intentionally lying to me and treating me the way I have been treated.  I feel like they should compensate me for all the headaches they have caused, but I know for a fact that won’t happen.  Fiance says that I need to tell them where to go after I have the dress in hand, but I know that’s not going to accomplish anything.  And I know if I request compensation it wont do any good.  Any ideas as to what I should do with this whole situation?

I think Julie got her dress from Mii's and had a really good experience.  However, other than Julie I have not heard anything positive about Mii's.  Everything I have heard is similar to your experience.  I don't think they will compensate you for your troubles.  I honestly think you should just get the dress when it comes in and take it elsewhere to be altered. (I think that was your plan anyway).  And thank GOD that you will be done with them.

If you feel compelled to say something you might just say "My experience working with your company has been absolutely miserable at best.  I don't appreciate the way I was treated and I will never refer your company out to anyone I know".  I'm not sure that will accomplish anything - but at least you would get it off your chest.

I’ve done a little more research…The dress I ordered was an Alexia Designs.  I looked on their website at authorized retailers, and Mii’s isn’t listed on there.  Should they be selling this dress then?  I don’t know all the rules with Authorized Retailers??  Is it something I could take the actual designers-would they care to know how people are being treated when purchasing their product?  Especially if they aren’t an Authorized Retailer?
I was even more sickened to see that on their website, they are listed as 2008/2009 Pick TheKnot Best of Weddings.  If this is true, I’m kind of sickened that Theknot would want to be represented this way, granted it was last year.

I'm sorry for what you are going through.  I do agree, to take it else where for alterations.

I went there to look at dresses and did not have a good experience.  I was pretty much set on one dress, and asked them what the price was.  They couldn't tell me that day, and took down my number to call me with the price.  Never heard back from them.

Yes, I had a very good experience with them but I wasn't in a rush.  Shortgirl ordered her dress through them too.  If I remember correctly, you were having a rush put on your dress.  Also, you are talking about dealing with them during their (or any other wedding dress seller's) busiest time of the year.

I don't know the rules about authorized sellers but I wouldn't have tried to buy a dress through someone who isn't an authorized seller of that line.  I did my research about where I could find the dresses I was looking for before I went to a store.
