Pet Peeves...

Do you have any?  WR or NWR.

It annoys me when people change lanes without using a blinker.

It use to annoy me when we still had a year to go until the wedding and my FMIL would ask me every time I talked to her (every week or so) what else I had done for the wedding.  I still had a whole year.

That's all I can think of for now.  What are yours?

I get annoyed with people that see the left turning lane (going under 121) is long, so they speed up in the middle lane and then cut me off as I'm turning.

Minor pet peeve when Chris takes off his socks in the living room, and leaves them on the side table.

I hate it when people see a sign that says "right turn only" (or something similar), and then stay in that lane until to the last minute, then cut in line in front of the rest of us that got in the correct lane in the first place.

    Too many to list...

I can't stand people who tailgate me in the right lane while I'm going the speed limit. There are 2 other lanes to speed in, folks.
    I have a dozen other traffic-related ones I won't go into.

I've stated this many times and I'll state it again: d-e-f-i-n-i-t-e-l-y
Defiantly is a completely different word. How is it possible to not know this?

I can't stand when people come in and start talking to me as soon as I sit down at my desk in the mornings. I like to have about 10-15 minutes to myself before I start chatting with anyone. Let me at least sit down before you come over to my desk!!

Also when people don't respond to text messages. Especially FI, his excuse is, "I thought that was a statement, not a question"...ok, so what, I wouldn't say it if I didn't want a response, I may as well talk to a wall!!  That drives me NUTS. It takes 2 seconds, NOBODY is that busy....just respond! It's just the considerate thing to do!

Ugh!  Same here!  But my FI leaves them right beside the computer table we have in the living room.  It annoys me, but then I realize just as the deacon said... you can't expect that one to change... he will most likely do that even after he's 50...

I actually live in Houston and many of the drivers here suck.  They always run red lights, cut me off, drive slow in the middle lane of the highway, drive 20 miles below the speed limit on a 2 lane Toll Road during morning hours causing a traffic back up...

Lauren--My husband does that! Actually he uses any piece of furniture he can find for his clothes. It would not ever occur to me to put dirty socks on a coffee table or a counter top. Why don't we just start putting our dirty underwear on the dinette while we're at it? Oy.

My biggest pet peeve is people who pop their gum/dont chew with their mouth closed.

And since we're already going on the driving thing, I hate when people leave their blinker on after they turn/change lanes.

FI bypasses the furniture and goes straight for the floor. Anywhere there's a clear spot, I'll be sure and find some underwear, or socks, or shorts at some point in the day. He tends to favor the bathroom floor, and bedroom floor. Sometimes he'll get a wild hair up his butt and leave some in the living room. You know, to keep it interesting for me.

People who try to finish your sentences for you.  My MIL does that when I'm talking or telling a story.  While I think she's just trying to let me know she's paying attention to my story and wants to be involved in what I'm saying, it really annoys me and I almost always find myself having a hard time remembering where I was going with my sentence because she's constantly trying to finish it for me.  So I'll have to stop and stutter a lot to collect my thoughts and try to focus on what I was saying rather than the fact that she's semi-talking over me to try and finish my sentence.

People who tailgate me in traffic.  Dude, you're not getting anywhere.  It's rush hour.  Sit back, relax, and you'll get there in a much better mood.  I also get pissed at people who tailgate period.  Though, I know I'm guilty of it sometimes.  What's really funny to me is when someone tailgates me when I'm in like the middle lane or right lane and there are other lanes to choose from that they could pass me in but they choose to try and tailgate me.  It's like they're trying to bully me into moving MY car so that they don't have to change lanes.  I'm a big fan of tapping the brakes...My husband tells me one of these days it's going to get me shot.

My husband leaves his cereal bowls all over the place.  I hate that.  So then the milk dries in the bowl and makes it that much more annoying to clean.  Sometimes they'll actually make it INTO the sink, but he won't wash the bowl out with water...so the milk and left over cereal just sit in the bowl and dry onto it.  Yell  Of course, this doesn't annoy him because he's not the one who usually cleans the dishes.

I hate it when I see people speed through school zones, maybe its the teacher in me.  It just irks me to no end.  If it says 20 mph don't go 25, its for the safety of the kids.

Leaving clothes around must be a guy thing in general.  I've started finding David's clothes hanging on the treadmill, which we've only had about 2 weeks.  He doesn't even use the treadmill and yet he drapes his shirts over the arm of it.  It's like he thought to himself, "Hey, new items to hang my crap on."

Oh, and the staircase.  He leaves his bike jersey hanging on the acorn-topper-thing at the base of the staircase railing.  And he leaves his keys and other crap on the side steps of the stairs, where the wood meets the iron railing.  So he has stuff scattered up 3 or 4 steps.

Posted by ewinkler1977[/QUOTE]I hate that, too!  I go about 19 or 20 in a school zone.  I don't care if I don't see any kids around, you never know!  I also hate when people speed through neighborhoods.  We have people who drive 35-40 mph down our street and I hate to think that one day a kid is going to dart out in front of someone's car and get killed because some jackass needed to get home 3 seconds faster than if he'd been more cautious.

Ohhh wow this makes my day today..

DH taking up office in our living room.  With his laptop on the coffee table and his stuff scattered all over the floor.   We have 2 completely empty bedrooms, and one of them even has a desk, but he won't go.

The person who takes 50 items to the self check out at the grocery store and has 15 coupons.  Really? Just go to the regular line, it will be faster.

Road Construction/Lane Closures between the hours of 7-9 AM and 4-6 PM on week days.

Family members that really let you down.

People who asked me why my wedding was on Friday.  Who cares if it was on a  Tuesday, either come or don't!!

People who play Farmvillle & Mafia Wars on Facebook.

OH, and there is the ever popular leaving the door wide open when DH goes into the garage and letting all the cool air outside.   As if the air conditioner isn't running enough already....

Well, I have a couple pet peeves, but they have really lightened up over the years..EXCEPT people that smack when they chew!!!  I will tell a complete stranger to quit smacking...that is awful.
I asked the FMIL to get me a wedding list together so that we can begin to assess our list, make changes where needed, etc...so that we can get a budget together.  Haven't heard a word on it in 3 weeks.
The clear lack of excitement (there's more than just the nonresponse with the wedding list...) is really beginning to be a pet peeve...
and the insincere "kind"ness.....ugh.  Always thought that I would be an "exception"...wouldn't end up with a TV sitcom MIL from hell...one that  I would dread.  Yea, well...maybe things will change.  For now, it is this way.

    Oh, so I have more.

The guy in my neighborhood who has a monster truck.  This thing is a 4-door Ford with huge tires (like they have at playgrounds), and the suspension has been modified so that it sits about a foot higher than it originally did.  He even has a little ladder hanging down from the side railings to help him get into the truck.  The truck is actually so big it can't fit in the guy's garage.  So what does he do?  He parks it on the street, and it takes up more than half of the street as well.  Holy crap, you live in the suburbs.  I get that you have a big ego, but it's completely unnecessary to have a truck that big.

Oh lord, you got me started on grocery stores.

People who still write checks at the grocery store -- which really wouldn't bother me so much, but they wait until they get their total to fill them out. You know the date and the name of the store! Write that shiz in already!

Slower than molasses clerks. Scan those items with a purpose people!

People who let their kids push the big grocery cart around. There are too many reasons why this has annoyed me.

People who have no clue how to use the self checkout. Isn't that hard. Scan, bag, pay. If you can't handle that, you shouldn't have ever left your parent's care.

Yeah, I'm a total beotch at the grocery store.

OH oh oh...that reminds me of one. I don't know why this wasn't at the forefront of my mind.

FMIL , and FI haven't been working with me on getting the addresses together. My mom is being wonderful enough to create all the invitations, and address them all, and send them out. Praise the Lord for my mother!  But yet, they're lagging on getting the addresses to her. So, as of this week, I'm going to stop asking. I sent my mom what I had, anyone that doesn't get an invitation...well, too bad!! I asked for WEEKS! I'm tired of nagging! It's not my fault if they don't get invited.

    Ah, I love it!

MAriah - I can't stand when people tailgate me.  Sometimes I will tap my brakes, but usually I just let off the gas and coast...  That usually gets them to switch lanes.

Cheryl - checks at the grocery store!! ARGH!!! usually it is the 90 yr old lady, so I try to give her a pass, but when it is some 30 yr old.  GET A FREAKIN DEBIT CARD!!!

And mine... people who don't know when to go.  You invite them over, have a nice time, ok, I'm ready for bed... and they still won't leave. They keep right on with their stories, oblivious to the fact that you have disengaged from the conversation. Or if you are at their house, they will still be talking to you as you are shutting your car door.  Sheesh....

I was thinking the same thing about the cig. butts.  Collect them and leave them on his door step.  Or mail box.

People who continually start a thread on MB's but never respond again.  I don't need  for you to give me 5 paragraphs in return, just something especially if I am always the only one to reply to you.   I just spent a good chunk of time thinking of how to help you out but you yet again ignore it.   Go find someone else to help you.  Maybe there is a reason why no one replies to you.

cfibelkorn--- There's no difference between that and any other litter. Would he think it's ok if you crumpled up post-its and scattered them on his lawn? I'd leave him polite note first just to avoid drama, then if it continues, we'd have to have words.

And this reminds me of yet another one: My neighbor always parks in front of my mailbox. We've received a few notices from the mailman about it and we've let them know this and they still do it. I hate to think that the mailman probably think it's our car and is getting annoyed by us. It's our stupid neighbor!

    Ha, I love reading these!

Mine would include: People who pick food out of their teeth while they are STILL AT THE TABLE. Gag me. Go to the freaking restroom, I don't want to see that!

I am also really weird about any unnecessary noises. IE; humming, whistling, tapping etc. My fiance is very musical and drives me nutty with all of the whistling that he does and then he'll get into the high toned/pitched whistling and it makes me crazy!

Um, like everyone else, bad drivers. I live in Granbury about 30 minutes away from ft. worth and the drive here is on a 2 lane rd. it is the WORST drive ever. the left lane is the fast lane; some people have not gotten this memo! People need to learn the code of the road.

And mseale: I have to steal yours! There is almost nothing as frustrating as the guest who doesn't get the hint to leave!
