Other boards..

Are pretty harsh! I was just lurking because I'm uber bored at work today, and on some of these boards the girls are just downright cruel for no reason.

I think they get some kind of pleasure from making other people feel like crap...

I don't plan on straying very far from DFW and my monthly board for that very reason.

I just don't understand why people would want to be so mean to someone who is clearly on these boards asking for advice/help.

Even the monthly boards are messsed up...
There was some girl on my monthly boarding carrying on about how she told off a friend's relative on FB that commented on that friend's status.

I am just thinking.. why is your business anyway??
It's great to stick up for a friend, but why you don't let them handle their own business??

And what's even scarier is how some of the brides that responded are telling her she did a good job to unleash on that person...

I used to be a regular on the Etiquette board (back when it was Planning and Etiquette)....I stopped going over when people really started taking things too far.  I lurk over there from time to time but rarely contribute.

I was browsing the Not Engaged Yet board, and they're pretty mean to poor little new girls. They kind of act like they know everything there is to know about relationships and marriage. And half of them aren't even engaged or married.

I stay far away from other boards, and rarely post on my month board.... they're scary and mean.  I guess it's a southern thing to be nice and courteous?  Oh well.  Yay DFW!

I concur.  My month board hasn't gotten out of hand (yet), but I don't really understand the harshness.  It has sort of become some kind of "secret society" for the regulars and they find joy in belittling others.  Why not go start a new board somewhere else?  They obviously aren't trying to be helpful, they're just looking to knock people down and then continue kicking them even after they are down.  It's pretty sad to see that some people have nothing better to do...

Completely agree! Part of me wonders what these people are like in real life, if they just use a computer screen to be a completely different person, because I find it hard to believe they would be that cruel to strangers if they were in a face to face enviornment.

I like my month board, but it has just been so quiet recently!  I don't usually post on the Etiquette or the Snarky Brides....though I do lurk sometimes.  I do like the Spring board. :-)

I saw a post where someone was bashing southern colleges, and their "ring before spring" mentalities. A&M was mentioned. I have never heard of such a thing!

<div>I went to Baylor and heard this so many times. Only it was "ring by junior spring or your money back."  Afterall, you need a year to plan the wedding. The joke was that graduate school was Baylor giving you a second chance to find a husband. </div><div>

    OMG...really!?!? Wow.....

I didn't know that many girls were so preoccupied with finding a husband in college. I was there to get my degree.

Oh yeah. I heard it from Freshman Orientation all the way through Graduation. I wouldn't say it was the focus for everyone, it was more of a joke -- most of the time. There are those who were focused on the ring... but not everyone!

That's funny. I went to TWU, so if anyone was there to find a husband, well, good luck.
