Make Up Artist Questions

Hi Girls,

So I am thinking about getting a make up artist for our wedding. I would probably pay for my mom, sister, FMIL, and myself. What price range do they usually range in? I didn't want to tell them until I found out but the few I have been looking at are a little expensive. I was thinking about $50 each girl, but I could be way off with it.

If you don't mind telling me about how much you paid and how many girls?

Thank you!

Are you wanting airbrush or just regular make up?  I think that $50 may be a little lower end but if you're just wanting regular make up - I'm sure that you can find someone to work with that price.

To give you an idea - I have a friend that works for MAC and she's doing my make up for $65 and my bridesmaids for $45 - and she's coming to me.

Oh ok! Well I was just throwing a number out that I thought it would cost.

What is the difference with air brush and regular? lol sorry if that is a dumb question but I don't wear alot of make up. Just eye liner, mascara, lip gloss. haha

My airbrush was $110 , and then I had 3 BM's get partial makeup...the MUA did eyes cheeks and lips and the girls each did their own foundations at $40/each.

My MUA did my hair and (regular) make-up for $95.  I couldn't pay for my BMs and they decided to just do their own.

Thanks girls! Now I just need to work something in my budget to be able to try and pay for some or half the cost.

I always recommend airbrush makeup over regular foundation.  It's lightweight, provides great coverage and photographs beautifully. Maybe you could splurge on airbrush just for yourself.

<div>Mine is similar to this.  My bridal hair & air brush is $160.  Airbrush for my MOH is $75 and the "touch up" makeup (they do their own foundation and the make up artist does eyes, cheeks and lips) for the other 3 BMs and my mom is $45.</div>

I found a lady that will do our hair and makeup at the ceremony site. She normaily charges $65 but since we are going to have it done as a group she is only going to charge us $50 a person for hair and makeup. My girls are going to pay for their own but I will pay for mine and my FMIL. Her name is Taylor Mohair and her email is gurlygurlztogo@gmail.com

I am a Makeup Artist and Hair Stylist. I do Airbrush foundation and regular makeup for the rest (its better because it doesn't look so stiff) I usually charge about $50 a person unless they add really dramatic eyes or false eylashes. You can email me at jenniferljeffrey@yahoo.com if you would like!

I might start another thread but I just got a quote for
Bride, airbrush and hairstyle: 275 .. is that par for the course??
Bridesmaids: 100 for both hair and traditional non-airbrush makeup....

    is this about right?

Disclaimer: Please excuse the above comment. I'm probably freaking out because there is less than one month to go. Thank you.
