wedding planners

We've been looking g for an inexpensive wedding planner/ wedding designer but everyone we talked to are out of our budget. We wanted to spend no more than a few hundreds 900 the max.
Can anyone help!!??

Re: wedding planners

  • Are you looking for full-service coordination or just day-of services?  I can't imagine finding a full-service coordinator for less than $1000.

I interviewed Christy Record with Swank Soiree and I think she had a package for under $1000 (keep in mind this was two years ago).  Altar Ego Events might also have someone.

You might also check (and I am 100% serious) Craigslist.  I know one bride here found a coordinator she loved on CL for a pretty good price.

  • I found a couple of DOC's under that price when I was looking. Jen Ashford was who I chose, and she was great, but she no longer does only DOC.
I second Craigslist, we found our ceremony musician on there just by posting an ad.
  • Be careful with Craigslist.  I will never forget our poor bride who got her DOC from Craigslist and the woman ended up ripping her veil off her head as she was about to go down the aisle (among other things).

It's like anything else--you get what you pay for.  Do you really need full service planning?  Many of us have planned our weddings just using this board, and then spent the money on hiring a DOC to run everything on the wedding day.
  • A few girls have suggested Amy Lacey. She's newer to the business and when I checked I think she was only running a few hundred for day-of coordination. She was booked for my date but the bride who ended up using her was happy with her services. Here's her website:

EJHart, do you know the names of any of the brides who used Amy? I contacted her, and she wanted to know who referred me, so she could give them a referral credit. Thanks for posting this. The other DOC I was looking at was $75 an hour, and I hope this turns out to be cheaper :).
  • What DOC was 75 an hr if you don't mind me asking?
  • There's Still Hope Events is pretty awesome and SUPER affordable. She's doing day of for me and has done several of my friends' weddings. I believe her DOC packages start at $250. Her phone number is 817-458-2634...Jessica is her name.

The DOC that was $75 an hr was Carrie Ebbesen, but she also had a package for $650 that includes DJ as well.
  • redenvelope is spamming all of the boards.
  • I think 4 flags automatically gets the post deleted, but I also know they're looking into modifying the flag system.
