Moving Truck recs?

Sorry for the post and run, but I have to go to work and I will try to get back on when I get there.

Anyways, any good or bad recommendations for moving trucks? We are moving down to Houston next month and I'm looking up trucks. So far we have looked at UHaul and Budget. Uhaul is way more expensive than Budget, is that because of convenience or are they actually good. I don't want to go cheap if that means crappy service. Thanks for the help.

Service and Trucks are approximately the same with UHaul & Budget.  Service is really not the best for either company in my experience.  I'd definitely make sure you call the day before and confirm your reservation.

The cost difference for a one way is typically based on where they need trucks. If Budget has a surplus of trucks in Dallas (or a shortage in Houston) then you can lower than normal rates.  If that makes sense at all.

I'd definitely go with the lowest rate.

We used Budget to move the rest of the stuff from Ben's condo because, since we were going to be making multiple trips, it was the cheapest option.  The truck was this huge thing--Ben made his best friend drive it since he had more experience.  I think some issue arose--like they weren't at the office when they got there and they had to wait or something--but it was minor.

You might want to make sure that it's really cheaper though--I think UHaul is cheaper per mile but Budget gives you more free miles or something like that.  Ben put pen and paper to it and decided that Budget was cheaper in our case, but for a long trip like you're doing, I'd make sure.
