Private Last Dance

I saw this on one of the other boards and didn't want to hijack it...

How did you go about doing this?  I think it is a great idea and hadn't heard of it before now.  Do you just wait for all the guests to leave?

After the last dance of the evening, the DJ made an announcement telling everyone to line up outside with the sparklers to send us off on our honeymoon (she played Kung Fu Fighting during this as we were going to Hong Kong).  The coordinator then helped "herd" everyone outside.  When everyone left, the DJ put on our private last dance song, hugged us good bye, and went outside to help the coordinator.  So while we danced (short song), the guests were busy lining up and lighting up the sparklers.  When the dance was over, the coordinator then sent us the cue for the grand exit to sparkler madness.

When the party was over the guests left to wait for us for our grand exit. When the ball room was empty, we did our dance. Our DJ was in there, but we didn't notice him. And I also didn't notice the photographer, but we have pics from it.

It was a nice moment.

We had a last dance of the night for everyone.  Then the DJ told everyone to go outside and line up for our exit.  While he was coordinating that, he played our song and we danced privately in the ballroom to Ween's "Stay Forever" which I surprised Ben with.  It was our favorite part of the night.

A lot of people have the photographer there for the first 1/2 of the song, and then is alone for the second half.  Although most people say they didn't notice their photographer.   I really wish I would have done this at our wedding, but I didn't know about it back then. haha

We did it and even though DH was just whatever about it but it was one of his favorite parts of the night.

We didn't get any pictures because they said they had enough of us already.

We had one - it wasn't really planned though! DJ just threw it in and I am so happy he did! He made an announcement for everyone to go downstairs for sparklers so we could have a private dance...DH didn't even know it was private until it occurred to him no one was in the room! lol - we were a little tipsy by this point though so I can understand his confusion. But it was a nice ending to a perfect night!
