How many of you have considered just running off to the beach to get married?

As much as I am going to enjoy a wedding at home...I'm kind of jealous of a co-worker and his fiance who are getting married on the beaches of Kauai this afternoon. Smile

    *raises hand*

yeah....i almost wish we did that.

But i know friends who just did it, and they wished they had an AHR...

Sadly we can't afford to do both, and the people we REALLY want to be at the wedding can't afford to go somewhere tropical :(

we'll be at the beach the day after the wedding though! :)

I begged to just do something simple in the Florida Keys but was told "no I don't want everyone to have to travel." Now that FIs parents and brother are moving back to AZ, everyone besides 2 BMs and 2 GMs are having to travel in town for our wedding. Yes, all of my family, all of his family and a majority of our friends are ALL out of the area.

I wish I could say that I'm annoyed by that, but I know if I did talk him into Florida we wouldn't get to celebrate with as many people since Dallas is more central to all our OOT folks.

I'm not so good with the advice... Can I interest you in a sarcastic comment?

My first thought when Ben proposed was an intimate ceremony with just our parents and bridal party on a beach in California, having dinner at a hotel after, and partying at a hotel bar all night. Then we would hang out with our bridal party in San Francisco for a day or two, then fly to Hawaii for our honeymoon.

It would have been fun if we had went this route but I ended up loving our wedding here with everyone.

I sometimes wish I had-however, I feel you don't get the whole "planing" experience that you do when you have one near by.

I never pictured a beach ... I did want to go to Vegas though. It was my husband that wanted to have a semi-elaborate at-home wedding, like Stephie.

Chase and I have been comtemplating just that. With every new little detail that comes up I just wanna go "screw it" and elope.... sadly my mom would have an absoloute cow if she didn't get to make my dress.... so the planning contiues.
