Say Anything Wednesday

I hope that I'm the only one in the office today. I just feel like having a quiet day.

I love La Madeleine...I'm so glad we have them here. I was so excited to get a free pastry from them on my birthday -- I picked out the biggest one in their case Innocent

Right now, i'm hating excel and its stupid V-lookups, which normally save my life.

Oooo which pastry did you get? I didn't realize they gave those out on your birthday. I know where I'll be having lunch this year! I'm addicted to their quiche and tomato basil soup, though I am thinking of widening out today and having the chicken casaer salad sandwich Laughing Are you ready for lunch now?

I'm considering signing up to run the San Antonio Rock and Roll 1/2 marathon on Nov. 14th.  But I really want to sign up for the DRC 1/2 marathon that's on Nov. 7th.  I may do both.  Why limit myself?  I'm also going to sign up for the White Rock marathon when that opens up.  26 is going to be a good year for me.  I can feel it.

I got the strawberry napolean- it was tasty! I usually opt for a chocolate croissant or tirimisu, thought I'd go big for free :P . If you go to their website you can sign up for their club and they send you a bday coupon every year.
Now I'm craving their potato soup with bacon--but I'll have to settle for a Lean Cuisine today *sigh*

Go for it Mariah!  I wanted to do the Rock N Roll in San Antonio but we'll be on our honeymoon.  That is a great one to do since you have so much entertainment to keep you going.
I'll be doing the relay in the Dallas White Rock Marathon in December.

If you want a running buddy let me know.  It's so much more fun to run with a group!  And it'll ensure I fit in my dress when it comes in.  It's the only way I got through my marathon.

This week I learned how to poach chicken.  I'd never really thought of doing it before, and I can see this being a big thing.  I was able to cook chicken this morning while carrying out my normal routine, and now I have chicken on my own homeade salad instead of walking down to Corner Bakery and getting a salad loaded with sodium.  Hurray for easy, healthy food from home!  Now I just have to make sure to keep salad fixins stocked.

Terriniski, is poaching a chicken easy?

You ladies really made me hungry!! Sadly lunch is an Hour and a half away. I love the Tomato Basil Soup! I may have to get some later!

I really want to get more done with the wedding, but we are still working on the church. My family says we have too much time and it's not necessary. I have things coming up that will make me stop wedding planning for months at time. Why don't they understand that?

I am excited because I am splurging today and getting a cupcake from Dimples!  Also, we are meeting with a possible ceremony musician tonight, so I am pretty excited!

I think I'm the odd man out on the Dimples experience. I tried 2 from the Frisco location and they were the sugariest cupcakes I've ever had. I have a very high tolerance for sugar too--my husband was very surprised I couldn't eat the frosting.

Deepthi, I faced some of that at first, too. Our engagement will be 16 months total, and at the beginning everyone kept saying "oh, don't worry about it, you have plenty of time". But, I moved to Nashville for six months and we could still end up moving again between now and the wedding. So I completely understand that you want to get a lot done now so you can take breaks later!

I had one of the cookies and cream ones and I really liked the cake part of it, but I do agree that the icing was wayyy too sugary!  But I am not big on icing anyways.

Also, I am excited because my job interview is tomorrow!

I love La Madeline's tomato basil soup.  It's heavenly.  I'm settling for tacos and an extra workout today.

sparkling- good luck on your interview!

deep- I agree with you.  I'd want to get most of the big vendors booked so I could have my first choice.  Especially venue.  GL!

I'm extremely irritated with FI right now. One of his cousins RSVP'd for 14 people, there are 4 people in her household; FI called her and she added her brother in law and his family on the RSVP. Okay, thats fine, we sent him an invite but they moved so he never got it. That brings the total to 8, the other people she included were her MIL, FIL, some other BIL and his girlfriend..I'm not sure who the other 2 people are. Anyway, FI told her that it was okay!!! Ummm..hello, we don't have enough food for all these extra people!! A

Wow that sucks!  I would be annoyed if people were just adding one extra guest....14 is just ridiculous!

Someone asked for advice about their issue yesterday.  A lot of us gave advice.  About half way through, she got someone to tell her it was okay.  Her response was "Yes!"  Really?  If you just wanted to do what you wanted to do and it didn't really matter what we said, then why did you bother posting the question to us?

Kris--I was just wondering if you had gotten that situation resolved. I'd make my husband shell out the money for that expense. "What, you want to go play golf? Sorry, but you have to save for your cousin's brother in law's girl friend to be at the wedding."

    Ha, Kris -  I like Cherrrylll's suggestion.

I'm seriously shocked by the lack of etiequette or even common sense from some people.  I'm sure I'll be on here with a similar situation soon.  I just haven't mailed invites yet.

Cancer is a real Mother. That is all.

Mariah - I think you should do the Rock n Roll ones if you're going to choose. I've done 2 of them and they're so much fun. And the White Rock one is good, but it doesn't hold a candle to the Rock n Roll. There are bands at every 1 mile marker and the atmosphere is just so much fun; imagine one big concert, but with runners. I've done the one in SA and in Nashville.

For the past month + we thought we had a hold on Trece for our rehearsal dinner  as we were told by management that we had been penciled in - and so last night me, my FILs and FI went to dinner at Trece so FI's mom could check it out.  After dinner and talking with management,  they told us 'oops, that night is already reserved."     UGH.  Now we have to start all over in finding a place and most places with private rooms are already booked.   They could have emailed us,  it was a waste of time.   Anyways,  I am just frustrated, and  I am so behind in this whole wedding planning thing, can't get quotes from my florist,  and haven't even thought about ushers (random, yes)..... anyways, frustrating day all around.  Now I am swamped at work.   But FI is taking me on a nice trip to S. Padre this weekend so I am excietd about that!

Um, sorry for the rambling, just had to get it all out.

When I see BSN's "then" picture of her and her FI, she reminds me of a really young Brittney Spears.

I've never been to La Madeleine.
