!!!!
First of all, just wanted to say thank you to all of those who have put up with me/answered my questions about dress shopping. (There were a lot of them, and thank you for not telling me to STFU and relax already.)
But my mom flew out and we went dress shopping yesterday and I found it!!!! It was at the second of five appointments I had scheduled for the day. I walked in kind of with my guard up because I heard of some of my coworkers' negative experiences at Mockingbird Bridal, specifically with an older lady who had helped them.
So we walk in, fully prepared to walk back out if anyone gave us a hard time about anything, and who is my bridal consultant but the oldest lady in the shop. I looked at my mom and thought, "Sh!t."
So she walks me over to a rack of gowns and says, "hold on look at these and I'm going to get someone to help you." So then I'm thinking, "WTF, b!tch, they just told me my appt was with you, who are you going to get?"
So then she brings over the designer of Saison Blanche (I didn't know it was a trunk show) and he asked me what I envisioned and what I liked etc. So he pulled a few dresses, and they were all gorgeous, but then he whispered something to my consultant and she scurried away.
Well, she came back with a dress that when I saw it, it made me smile. Like ear-to-ear, uncontrollable, face lit up kind of smile.
He told me he knew it wasn't exactly what I described, but he thought it would look great on me.
Turns out, it did.
I couldn't really try it on completely because the dress was TINY and I am not, but it looked amazing.
And the best part? I got the trunk show discount, plus they had a special easter discount where you got to pick an egg out of a basket for an additional savings of 5-15%. So I picked a purple one because my Nana (who passed about two years ago) always looked great in purple and told her that if she was up there dress shopping with me I could really use 15%. And that's what I got! (Thanks, Nana.)
All in all I spent less than half of what I had orignally budgeted for. Let's put the dress in the win column.
AND my consultant Jenny turned out to be the nicest person all day. Really really sweet lady. She even hugged me when we were leaving and told me she was so happy I bought the dress because it was really just perfect on me.
So that is my dress, and this is my smile:
Have an amazing Saturday!
