Texas-Dallas and Ft. Worth

Inexpensive Venues for less than 75 people

Hi Everyone,
I'm getting married next June but am having trouble finding venues that are reasonably priced in Dallas that are intimate for my group of about 60-70. here is what i am looking for:

-ceremony and reception in same location
-indoor reception space - either indoor or outdoor for ceremony
-looking to spend around $1500 for venue only or $4000 for venue, rentals and food

Has anyone used the Filter Building at White Rock? We're looking there next week. It looks nice but I'm afraid it will be too large. Any ideas are welcome. We're looking to stay in Dallas or surrounding suburbs.

Thanks everyone!!

I'm getting married at the Filter Building and yeah it might be a little too big for 70 people.  I have 90 guests and I think it's going to feel a tad larger (we were originally planning for 100 people) But it's an amazing space.  I do think though with the rental being $2000, you would only have $2000 left for catering which is really hard to do with their preferred caterers because you have to rent all your own stuff (linens, china, silverware, glasses, etc).

Have you looked into Big Thicket (on White Rock Lake), operated by City of Dallas Parks and Rec?  It's like a smaller version of Winfrey Point.

Or Richardson Women's Club?  They have a lovely outdoor garden and I think the smaller banquet room holds 100 max.

Oh and I don't know if Times Ten Cellars would be too untraditional for you, but they have a fabulous private room for weddings.

Donaaries - we did look at Times Ten. It's quite nice though it seems small. Have you used it? Going to check out the Women's Club. I forgot to mention we are fine doing it on a Friday night.

    Thanks everyone! Great suggestions!

I have not used Times Ten Cellars though they were a contender for our rehearsal dinner site.  Just thought it was a really beautiful space.

For our rehearsal dinner, we're actually going to do a traditional Chinese banquet dinner at Kirin Court.

I just opened my old "reception sites" excel file and here are some more places you might want to check out:

Plano Arts Center in downtown Plano (outdoor garden space, indoor gallery space)

    Chapelle des Fleurs
in Flower Mound has an all inclusive $4000 package for Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday weddings

    Myers Park in McKinney

    Heard Museum in McKinney

La Buenda Vida is gorgeous, but I remembered they only have outdoor reception space... as in ceremony and reception both have to be outdoors....

This is true...it's where we are getting married. It's a beautiful venue but it's really not very budget bride friendly I don't think it will work within your budget.

Check out Coyote Ridge Golf Club in Carrollton - we're having ours there and will have less than 75 people.  We opted for an outdoor ceremony by the water feature and our reception will be 1/2 ballroom, so not as large.  :)

Another option is III Forks - it was our second choice and had I not decided on a "traditional" venue we would be there.  Their courtyard is lovely and they have several rooms for your reception

We are getting married at the Bingham House in McKinney.  It fits your description - as does Chestnut Square - also in McKinney.

Anglin Occasions in Fort Worth may be able to provide what you are looking for, Kris has been easy to work with, and from what i've seen the prices are decent.
