MAC cosmetics - review - arlington parks mall

i've used only mary kay for the past 7 years for ALL my makeup. recently i've been wanting to try something different and possibly some new colors, even though mary kay just came out with new ones this month. my MUA that used a charcoal grey on my eyes when i asked for browns and SWORE up and down that is was brown, said she'd use my makeup colors if i wanted to..... so, this past weekend i went to the parks mall in arlington to the MAC store. i figured since MAC is what most MUA use, that'd be a good place to start. i signed up for a free makeup session (if you purchase $50 or more - which i knew i would). the lady that did my makeup was AWESOME!!! and so was all the other ladies in the store. she listened to what i said and choose some really nice colors and did my makeup really awesome! i ended up buying $250 worth of stuff. i have to say, since saturday, i've used the eye primer and the fluidline (?) eyeliner (it comes in a small jar and you put it on with a brush). I've worked out, sweated, etc and my eyes look almost the same at the end of the day as it did when i first put in on. AND with no brown/black smudges under my eyes!!! why am i just discovering this now?
had to share since they were so nice and professional and because it would be a good place to learn or to get your makeup done for cheap. i think it is $50 if you don't buy something. also, if you are doing your makeup yourself - this is the way to go! try the eye primer and the fluidline eyeliner for sure!!! i can't remember the name of the girl doing mine, but all the ladies were so nice and helpful!!!

YES!  A friend of mine is a MAC MUA and she is going to do my make up... for free, but I'm buying the $50 worth of products and all of my BMs are coming with me.  It's definitely a great deal! Are you going to use her for your wedding?  Alot of times, they will travel too.

Maybe ask the girl if you can cancel the contract for makeup and just have her do hair?  It doesnt hurt to ask!

i paid for a package deal that included my hair and makeup, 4 other makeups and 1 other hair, plus travel fee and early morning fee.

if i have someone come out to do just my makeup, it would probably be alot of money.

i just posted in my other post... should i  just pray it is good that day or pay for another trial makeup?

Bridget - thanks for the review.  I think I'll stop by MAC, just to see what their ideas are.  I have a slight make-up addiction.

With you being as nervous as you are, I would try to do another trial if you have the money.

I'm planning on stopping by MAC for them to do a trial. I haven't used their make-up but a girl at work swears by it.
