This may be crazy to bunch all of this into one post, but I'm fresh out of college and pretty clueless as to which brands of household items are more reliable/long-lasting/worth the money. If you have ANY great recommendations on appliances, let me know any info you can about the brand/make/etc. of the item so I can hopefully track something similar down to put on our registry--we need a bit of help to start us off!! I'm needing suggestions for a: -good food processor that won't brake the bank -blender -toaster (preferably w/ 4 slots) -coffee-maker -CROCK POT/SLOW-COOKER (I'll be using this a lot!!!!) -stand mixer (won't be using too often, so doesn't have to be too pricy/fancy) -fry-daddy (whatever you use to fry up french fries, etc.) -can opener (we always seem to get one that brakes within a month...) -iron -floor steam mop -CAMCORDER -portable DVD player (for extensive trips) -home theater system/speakers for TV set -do we want a metal bakeware set, silicone, or glass?? THANKS SO MUCH!!! This will give us so much help to get our registries kicked off!! You all are great!!!

  • Food processor - Cuisinart Blender - Kitchenaid Coffee Maker - Krups espresso/coffee maker Crockpot - Calphalon 7 Qt slow cooker Mixer - Kitchenaid Can opener - we just have a regular one (not electric) Iron - T-Fal Bakeware - Highly recommend CorningWare French White and Pyrex bakeware Also, if you're looking for a vacuum I suggest the Dyson Ball. Best vacuum I've ever owned. I wouldn't worry so much about the brands you get (although some are better than others), I would definitely focus on getting all of the same finish (i.e. white, stainless, or black).

  • Food precessor - Initially i wanted a cuisinart, but the kitchen aid gets better reviews so that is what i got and love it!Blender - ikon hemispherestand mixer - kitchen aidbakeware - i have some of each of the three types
  • I've had a Cuisinart food processor for 28 years - dang thing won't break so I can get a new one. Crock pot - Rival w/electronic controls.  Love it. Stand mixer - you will have to pry my Kitchenaid from my cold dead hands when I die.  Need I say more? Can opener - won't have an electric one.  My BIL is corporate with one of the Wendy's bigger franchises.  He started as a fry cook there as a teen and got the big bacteria everywhere classes.  Electric can openers are not as sanitary as we would all like to think.  My mom always had one.  I refuse.  I wash my hand one every time I use it.  It is a kitchenaid. Bakeware - aluminum.  All the pros on TV use it.  I've tried them all and come back to aluminum.  It heats really evenly.  I don't mess with the nonstick stuff either.  It affects the texture of the outside. Happy registering!
  • food processor- Cuisinart coffee-maker- Love our Delonghi espresso maker! stand mixer- KitchenAid, but it was pricey can opener- I am really happy with my Pampered Chef one. I was skeptical before, but I love it! do we want a metal bakeware set, silicone, or glass?? I really prefer glass, it feels more long-term to me, and doesn't get scratched like metal. I have Pyrex pieces.
