Gift for single parent?

Hi everyone, My mom is single and is giving us $1000 towards the wedding. I want to get her something nice. Usually she is good about telling me what she wants. For example she hosted our engagement party and wanted a new toaster so I got her one. I also know what I am getting her for Christmas (new sheets, towels) because she told me. When I brought up wanting to give her something to thank her for helping us with the wedding, she said "that is ridiculous!! I don't need anything!! You don't give gifts to parents who helped you pay!" But I still want to, haha.  I can't do a gift certificate to a restaurant or anything like that. She loves Pier One but I don't want to say, "here's a gift certificate." What do you think? Thanks!

  • Dito pp. An album would be a great gift.  I think we're going to get nice, inscribed picture frames for our parents--maybe a pretty frame with a picture of you and her on your wedding day.Otherwise, every woman loves a good spa day!
  • Ditto with PPs on an album/frame.I'm doing an album for both FI's parents and mine since between the two of them they are paying for everything (including honeymoon).

  • An album or framed photo would be very nice. Or, how about something you and she can do together? For example, schedule pedicures, your treat, for you both or get two tickets to a play you think she'd like to go to for you both.
