what to engrave on FI's gift?

I'm thinking I will get him a nice pocket knife and have it engraved - it's something he'll actually use, and possibly have for a long long time or forever - and am trying to think of something clever to engrave in it.  I could just do our wedding date, but was thinking about something related to how a pocket knife is all-in-one, tools, "building our lives" together, or "everything you'll ever need", something like that.  Suggestions, ladies?  Thanks!

    He may face some real teasing if it has a "cutesy" engraving on it. If you want to make it personal, maybe have your wedding date put on it, or his name with "I love you". If it gets too cliche the guys might poke some unwanted fun at him. You want him to use it and think of your wonderful day whenever he pulls it out. Make it something he would be proud to tell his buddies about.

    That is an excellent point!  I think I will just go with the wedding date, and save the cutesy-corny message for a card. Thanks!
