My wedding planner-Venting!!! Should I be pissed?

UGH!!!!
So my wedding planner has a new assistant and apparently she didn't confirm our date to view the set up of our centerpieces and sweetheart table.

I wanted to see what she had in mind because she is in charge of the decorations.

We talked about the scheduled meeting today back at the end of June.  My wedding planner is very busy but has told me that she will begin to focus on me and keep things going in July..so we booked this date and verbally confirmed on July 6th that we will meet on July 20th.
I get a text today stating "Just confirming our date of the centerpieces and linens on August 18th at 3:00pm from her assistant"....WTF...Really?
I responded no mam..we are scheduled for today at 2:00pm...and she goes on to give me this story that we never confirmed the date and booked the wedding planner for a destination wedding today in CO...how in the hell does that make since? I am a little pissed right now...
So am I overreacting at this point or should I be pissed...this has happened twice with scheduling conflicts..and it was pused to a later date which was today!!

Ummm...yes! This coming from someone who had problems with her wedding planner (sched conflicts, not returning emails, forgetting things, being MIA at the wedding, ect.). I would just be cautious...you shouldn't be the one that is having to confirm things and remember specific dates. I would have a serious talk with her regarding her schedule and your frustrations! GL!!

Ok first she texted you the confirmation??  Um no!  And second you confirmed just a few weeks ago about today.  I'd go a little Zilla on the planner and insist that they keep their committment today.  I would also start looking for another planner just in case.

I had little things come up with my planner--one thing I did was to be proactive and confirm with HER when we had meetings.  I took the initiative and would email her to say "just confirming we're still on for next Friday at 11:00," stuff like that.  That way I felt a step ahead.  There's really nothing you can do now but wait until the next appointment but I would definitely stay on top of her from now until the wedding.

Thanks guys...I just feel crazy being that she is payed off and now all of the sudden we are having scheduling problems...I have calmed down some..but once I get to speak with her we are going to have to get things straight with the assistant and confirming dates..I would hate to feel like this is will be a reflection of her services from now up until the wedding date. I don't feel comfortable and that is a part of her slogan and things she always state... "make you comfortable"...

I would be pissed. It is very unprofessional. Who are you using? I am getting into the industry so it will be nice to know who I shouldn't intern with! :)
