After getting married this August I will be living in the UK. The whole "registry" thing is pretty new over there, and I would really like to register at Macy's and Pottery Barn which are only here in the good old USA. Sending packages in the mail from the US to the UK can get very expensive...and these stores I want to register at do not ship abroad.
I was told that I may be able to hire a freight carrier so that any gifts that my guests bought would be shipped not to me here in the US, but directly to an East Coast based freight shipping company. After a certain amount of time, after all gifts have been collected, they would be sent via ship to the UK, which is (I'm hoping) much more cost effective than mailing each gift individually.
Has anyone ever heard of this? Is it possible to do? Please help!
