I was planning on registering for gifts at a place like khols, and even started my registry. My FI and I live together, so we have stuff, but not the best stuff. So I really wanted to update things and get things we don't have.
We have been talking about moving for a while now, and decided that we are going to make it happen about a month after the wedding. We already were not going on a honeymoon because we cannot afford it.
So now we are thinking, all the more gifts we get, the more to move. and what would really be helpful if donations to help our move and new life together.
I didn't plan on putting registry info in my invitations. I am just having it on my wedding website. So is it okay to write in the section there, something like, "The bride and groom will be starting their new life in (place we are moving) shortly after the wedding. Due to this, the bride and groom are not asking for gifts. If you feel inclined, donations to help the couple get on their feet in their new life are welcomed'
That's just a real quick wording. I can play with it to make it sound better.
