We really, really love the china we registered for. We already have everyday dishes, so the china is the only dishware we registered for.
We registered at Crate and Barrel and Macys and almost everything we originally put on the registry has been purchased except for the china. We had our showers and the wedding is 6 weeks away.
Initially, we registered for individual pieces -- because we don't need the coffee cups -- but switched to place settings, thinking people may prefer to buy a place setting as opposed to a couple single pieces. It's not just a price thing, because people bought things in the same price range as the china.
Has anyone else had this experience? Are people just more likely to buy china as a wedding, as opposed to shower, gift? Or do people just not want to buy it because they think we won't use it/will return it if we don't get the complete set?
