Today will be my last Knot day before the wedding and honeymoon. I have to go out of town (more on that below), so I will see you all on Oct. 25th! Hopefully with some pro and non pro pics and vendor reviews to share! Thank you all for all of the help you have given me, I really could not have put my wedding together without you girls.
Regarding the T&P request, I have seen you girls do some amazing things for others and hope you will be kind enough to push some of that positive energy my way.
About 6 years ago my grandfather was diagnosed with colo-rectal cancer, it was advanced and they took everything they could leaving him with an ostomy bag. He adapted so well and got right back to being his vivacious self within a few months. 5 years later he was declared cancer free and we celebrated.
A couple of months later, in August he was having some tiredness spells and decided to go for a check up/scan. At the scan two small masses were discovered in one of his kidneys and liver. We were assured it was nothing, that he had had it forever and he was sent home with some vitamins to come back in 6 weeks to see if the tiredness improved. The tiredness did not improve and another scan was order. During the scan the doctor surprised us all by letting us know the masses had over doubled in size and would need to be operated on ASAP.
So here we are, tomorrow, 2 days before the wedding, heading to surgery for my granddad. A rollercoaster of emotions for sure. He will be having a kidney a a piece of his liver removed. Although not a crazily life threatening surgery, he is 75 so the age associated risks scare us still.
I haven't really talked about this part because I feel it is a little selfish, but I also feel like I can share it with you girls. While I am very worried about the surgery I am also upset that my granddad will not be able to walk me down the aisle. After my father passed I felt it was right to have his dad stand in that place of honor for him. It brings home a little more how very much I will miss him on Friday.
With all of that said, please keep us in your thoughts and prayers.
