registry website where we can mix and match?

We are just wondering if anyone knows of any websites that will allow us to create a registry full of items from a variety of stores. We have a list of things, but no two or three sources cover those items. We have a little bit of stuff stuff from Restoration Hardware, Williams Sonona, Target, Lands End, REI, etc., and it seems absolutely ridiculous to make teensy registries at each of these stores. We'd like to have one central list online, with direct links, to make it easier for us and our family and friends. Is there a website that will let us do this?

You can do this with Amazon.com's universal registry (and you can add Amazon.com stuff, too).  One thing to note is that guests will need to enter the shipping address themselves for universal registry items.  That's ok if they want to ship it to themselves, but annoying if they want to just ship it to you.  Also, if people go to Wiliiam Sonoma and ask about your registry, I don't think they'll be able to look it up for them, since you aren't technically registered there.

I am not familiar with myregistry.com, so I don't know if it has the same drawbacks.

ETA: We have BBB, Macy's, and Amazon registries (including universal items), and people have purchased several items off the Amazon universal registry section already.
  • Thanks! We will definitely check into both of these options.
  • Amazon!  My friends did Amazon and it was great.  There was an option of "reserving" an item so if you didn't want to purchase online, you could purchase in-store (or a different store if you found it at a lower price) and it would show as purchased.

  • Another vote for MyRegistry.com.  We're using it and so far, so good.
