I'm getting married this fall. My fiance and I live together and have for a long time now. Yes, there are things I'd like to have, but I don't feel right, IMO, basically demanding certain gifts from people. The most recent registries I've seen--where the couples choice THE most expensive stuff or registered for a ton of things they admitted at the shower they would never use--were the breakings points of my already existing disgust of the things. We are also having a destination wedding, so we'd prefer guests attend instead of spending the money on a present. However, there is a wedding shower being thrown in my honor. What do I do?
